Keeps shutting off with fo code

The F0 error code indicates that the control board detects a stuck key on the control keypad. This is often caused by a bad control keypad but it can sometimes be caused by a failed electronic control board in the oven console. A technician will normally determine which component is causing the problem by

shutting off the breaker

and unplugging the ribbon wire cable for the control keypad from the electronic oven control board in the console. The oven would then be powered back up to see if the F0 error code returns with this ribbon wire cable disconnected. If it does, then the problem is with the electronic oven control board. If it does not return, then the control key panel will need to be replaced. I normally recommend that you have a service technician repair this type of problem. F0 error code on GE Profile PT956 double electric oven

you can also put a piece of paper between the ribbon cable where it joins up before the connector. It has been reported that the cable will short in this area. Try that before spending more money since most of the F-codes appear to be cable related.

Hi,

To my understanding error code F1 would indicate a faulty control board, possibly thermistor control. The only recourse is to have this replaced.

This of course would require a fair familiarity of electrical/electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and possibly a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Double Oven says "F0" and beeps continuously

The fault code "F0" is indicating a possible stuck or shorted key pad or oven control board failure.
Determine if the problem is with the key panel or the oven control board by:
1. Pushing Clear/Off pad.
2. Disconnecting the Ribbon Cable Connector from the control board and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if the Code recurs.
If the code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.
If the code does not recur the problem is the Key panel and it would need replaced.
This test is normally done by an experienced service technician to avoid any possibility of getting shocked. This has to be done with voltage applied to the wall oven. Extreme caution should be exercised while testing.
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your oven.
