Try cleaning the cd first before putting it in the player. If that doesnt work, then the cd may be bad disc. if it has alot of scratches on it, then it will not work. if its not turning like it used to when the door opens, i dont think its a problem. its not going to move much if the door is opened.
check the cd you are trying to play if you have recordable cd some players wont read disk also make sure the cd has the right format example mp3 wave also try to use a disc cleaner if laser is dirty
Optical drives vary in their capability:
* read CD
* read CD and read DVD
* read/write CD
* read/write CD and read DVD
* read/write CD and read/write DVD
What capabilities are available on your "Super Multi" drive?
What software are you using to try to create/burn CD/DVD disks?
Okay, shut down your laptop, turn it up side down, remove laptop battery, remove Cd drive by first unscrewing the CD drive's screw before removing/detaching the Cd drive from the computer.
Turn on your computer without the Cd/drive, allow computer to boot, after a while, shut down computer, fix in back the CD drive and turn the system back on.
By now the system should read the CD drive. If it does not, then I'm afraid some this is wrong with the Drive, but I'm sure it should work.
I found out that memorex cds that have on the package (for use in audio recorders)work every time.They're red label packaging,I hated buying cds only to find out they dont work. Dont forget READ THE LABEL look for (use in audio recorders)
are you useing cd rewrights some cd players dont like them ? have you tryed a cd cleaner in it ? if not try that if it dont do the job your find the laser needs to be reset in side the cd player this sometime costs more that what the head unit is worth it might be cheaper to buy a new one . let me know how you get on
can't read now? with any cd's? if that happens try to adjust the trimpot/variable resistor beside the optical lens(its still part of optical lens) I just dont know if it turns clockwise or counterclockwise, well turn it on the other side then turn again to the other side. little by little. then if it still not working, you need to change your optical lens though.
you can do this if you are a pro..
note:
stay away at the power supply, never touch any part.
