Hi, and thank you for being here. I have a beloved Acecat III serial tablet that I loved until I updated my operating system from Windows 98 to Windows XP. I'm hoping there may be a driver or something I can install to make the tablet work again in XP, without having to buy a whole new tablet. Any help you can offer is much appreciated. Thanks very much!

To use AutoCad with almost any digitizer, summasketch included it is recommended you download the driver from this site: http://www.vtablet.com only works with serial interface and costs +- $60 however they do allow u to use it for free for 30 days. If u need a USB to serial that WORKS for your computer head to www.interworldna.com and search for the usbadpt adaptor Hope this helps
First conform that serial port is selected as NONE on digitizer manager while you running the lectra tablet utilities. If you try this already please check your cable connectivity any one of the line may be missing connection. It may work but you can't able to run lectra tablet utilities.
Maybe IBM have some drivers but as XP is obsolete, they may not.
Operating Systems as supplied from new. Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32-bit and 64-bit
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005
Are you using XP Tablet Edition as that edition has the drivers for the features?
You dont have the correct drivers installed for the pen and button functions.. I need a email address to send them to... Mine is: [email protected] or call me...740-404-6370 I have the same tablet and it took me 3 months to round up all the CORRECT drivers and get everything working.... BTW I could use a copy of the restore disk for mine if you could...
XP professional will not work on that unit. The OS will install and work properly but you will lose many of your tablet functions. You have to have the tablet pc edition for all comonents to function. You would not gain anything by going to Pro, and your Windows or Microsoft update will keep your current tablet pc edition updated properly.
