Question about Acecad ACECAT III Graphic Tablet

Tablet worked in Windows 98 but not in XP

Hi, and thank you for being here. I have a beloved Acecat III serial tablet that I loved until I updated my operating system from Windows 98 to Windows XP. I'm hoping there may be a driver or something I can install to make the tablet work again in XP, without having to buy a whole new tablet. Any help you can offer is much appreciated. Thanks very much!

I am looking at buying one of these tablets, and this site is given as the link for downloading the driver for XP and Vista. Hope this helps.

If anyone gets this soon, could you tell me the pressure sensitivity of this model? I really need to know before I commit to buying one -- I don't like to make that kind of a purchase sight unseen.

To be perfectly clear -- the site for the driver is given as:

http://www.xpvistasite.com/acecat_iii_31... -- but I can't attest to its validity, as I only got it from an eBay ad for the tablet, which I was considering buying.

Am I right that this tablet has NO pressure sensitivity, and is a simple "on/off" interface, like a mouse button? I can see a lot of applications in which it would still be useful, if that's the case (including the CAD environment it appears to have been designed for), it's just not what I'm looking for, if that's true.

Thanks in advance for any info you users can give me.

SummaSketch III drivers to work with Autocad 2004 and Windows 8

To use AutoCad with almost any digitizer, summasketch included it is recommended you download the driver from this site: http://www.vtablet.com only works with serial interface and costs +- $60 however they do allow u to use it for free for 30 days.
If u need a USB to serial that WORKS for your computer head to www.interworldna.com and search for the usbadpt adaptor
Hope this helps

GTCO CalComp Drawing Board III 34480 Graphic Tablet.lectra tablet utilities is not running

First conform that serial port is selected as NONE on digitizer manager while you running the lectra tablet utilities. If you try this already please check your cable connectivity any one of the line may be missing connection. It may work but you can't able to run lectra tablet utilities.

Maybe IBM have some drivers but as XP is obsolete, they may not.

Operating Systems as supplied from new.
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32-bit and 64-bit
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005

Are you using XP Tablet Edition as that edition has the drivers for the features?

Hi i like to install xp profecianal on my laptop m280e i have on it xp7 tablet ther any probleme to install xp profecianal please responce

XP professional will not work on that unit. The OS will install and work properly but you will lose many of your tablet functions. You have to have the tablet pc edition for all comonents to function. You would not gain anything by going to Pro, and your Windows or Microsoft update will keep your current tablet pc edition updated properly.

SummaSketch III has no power

Absolutely, the Summasketch III needs a power pack, 12vdc which plugs into the RS232 plug (Computer side) Without this power supply plugged into the wall and into the cable the tablet will not work,

Try looking for a power supply at this URL: http://www.interwld.com/Home/FAQ.htm#SummaGraphics%20Digitizers

or the one: http://www.interwld.com/PriceLists/SUMUSPricelist.htm
