Question about Whirlpool RF365 Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Electric Oven doesn't cook evenly

The electric oven doesn't bake evenly. The range is level and the heating element heats fine. There seems to be a lot of heat that goes up through the top of the stove. The stove is a simple Whirlpool about 2 years old and has done this since new. Suggestions or ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Burners work fine. Oven generates heat, but not a sufficient amount for baking. Not all heating elements seem to glow during baking procedures.

Oven will not heat

Since bake and broil use different elements, and it is unlikely both went out at once, and then I would suspect the switch instead of the elements.

Preheat taking long time

If your oven has the hidden bake element then it is probably working properly. A standard oven with an exposed bake element will usually take about 12-15 minutes to preheat. The hidden element models take a little longer but they usually heat a little more evenly.
