I am wondering what might be wrong with our 52' Mitsubishi WD-52525 flat screen HDTV. When you go to turn on the tv the timer light blinks green for about a minute and then the tv trys to turn on, I heard the sound, then it fails and the status light turn a constant red. We have had the tv a little over 14 months and have not replaced the lamp. However, the lamp light is not red and we have never received a warning message on the tv about the lamp being about to fail. How would one know if the lamp needs to be replaced? Additionally, we cleaned the filter, and tried a system reset over the phone with Mitsubishi to no avail. We would like to fix this ourselves rather than have to call someone to repair it. Any idea what the problem might be? All advice is welcome and greatly appreciated.
Here is the link to the manual if you need it; http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/MIT_WD-52525_WD-62525_WD-52725_WD-62725_Manual.pdf page 97 states that the lamp is the problem -(the flashing green just means startup - page 11) 14 months sounds about right for a new lamp if you use it a lot - that would be an average of 5&1/2 hours a day if the lamp went to 4000 hrs - although these lamps are more dependable than normal lamps, they can still fail anytime especially if they have been touched on the glass by accident while installing or cleaning, or if the tv is often switched on and off. The fact that there was no message on screen may mean that the lamp has not gone past the warning trigger number of hours - sorry i haven't found what that value is. page 95&96 gives all instructions how to replace lamps and where to get spares - if the price seems bad then search around - prices often vary a lot on these lamps. It is a little disappointing that mitsubishi where not able to diagnose this - please let them know that their technical service is poor in the hope that they try harder. I hope this helps :) Hope this helps :)

I read a few other posts on these tv's after posting this message. Anyways, after hearing that you could hit the device and menu buttons at the same time and a code would be produced in the falses from the green lights, which can be used to diagnose the problem. Well I tried it and my tv is giving out a 1-3 code. What does this mean?
have a yellow light blinking on status tv will not come
