I bought a 42 inch Goodmans plasma tv over 2 years ago, but now the sounds seems to have disappeared. To be able to get a reasonable sound the volume has to over 50 mark, Sometimes the bass would come back for a few seconds which is quite uncomfortable since the volume is already high. I have checked the audio control, fine, and the cables, fine, I have even connected another speaker, but same, therefore speakers are ok. The problem is I have no cover for it. Please advise.

Re: TV sound problem
First my brother you have an old set which needs to be service take out the circuit board clean it and do resoldering in the audio circuit.if that does not solve your problem then it is time to call the tech,it means that your audio ic needs to be replaced and the associated components you can also look on some dried up caps which could be a part of your problem.good luck.

New products do fail. The set should certainly be under warranty. I would speak to the dealer you purchased the unit from and see what they suggest. Don't remove the rear cover, or do anything else to give anyone a reason to void your warranty. Most brands are 90 days on parts and labor.
We originally had a red stripe roughly 3" wide running vertically on the ride edge area of our Panasonic 52" Viera plasma tv. It has now been joined by a solid black stripe of the same width running from the top to the bottom. Living in Germany and purchased at local PX long enough ago that the warranty is likely expired. Now what?
Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.
