There are two versions of this lens.  The Telemacro version takes 77mm filters and is quite good.  It sells for $325-400 depending upon condition.  The other version "APO" is not very sharp and has low contrast.  It takes a 72mm filter and usually sells for approx. $125-$200.  I would not recommend this one for any serious photographer.  The Telemacro version is a nice affordable 400mm lens with decent performance.  Both lenses have slow AF, but the fast focusing alternatives are hundreds to thousands more.

What camera does a sigma telephoto lens F6 fit?

Sigma makes lenses with a variety of lens mounts to fit a variety of camera brands. Without knowing the type of mount on a particular lens, it's impossible to say which brand(s) it fits.

Does Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens fit canon eos rebel

Sigma makes their lenses with a variety of camera mounts. If you get the lens with a Canon mount then yes, it will fit any EOS Rebel camera body. A lens with a Pentax mount, for example, will not fit a Canon camera.

How do you make af work on nikon 3000, using a sigma 70-300 f4-5.6 dg macro lens?

Unfortunately, you don't. The D3000 does not have an autofocus motor; it relies on the the lens having one. This particular Sigma lens, unlike its Nikon equivalent, does not have a motor.

Nikon calls their lenses with an autofocus motor AF-S. Sigma calls theirs HSM.

I just purchased a Sigma 2.8 f=28mm for canon but I don't know if it will fit my Canon EOS 500 N (same as Rebel G) 35mm SLR film camera. Can you help with this question.

Canon EOS 500N has an EF lens mount, so all lenses with Canon EF mount will fit. All lenses with MF and EF-S won't fit. If you purchased Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 EX, then it have EF mount and will fit EOS 500N.

Purchase Zoom Lenses

Canon currently makes super Telephoto lenses from 300mm to 800mm and a number of zoom Telephoto lenses from 28-300 to 100-400. You can also special order a 1200mm lens from Canon at a cost of $99k! (There are only about 20 such lenses made so far.)

You can also get a 1.4 or 2x teleconverter to further increase the power of a telephoto lens. However, the cameras are unable to auto-focus when the minimum f-stop exceeds f/8, which can happen when you use one (or both) of the teleconverters on these longer lenses, so you have to manually focus the lens.

You can also get telephoto lenses from other manufacturers such as Tamron and Sigma that are built to work with Canon cameras. However, the Canon lenses are generally regarded as the best quality.
