I have a Brother PE-150 Embroidery Machine, I keep breaking needles. I've tried every style of needle i can think of, but NOTHING that came with the machine, tells me exactly what type of needles I need to be using, and or what size. All it say is to use a size 11 or smaller. What does this mean?
Needle breaks
1.the needle is damaged
2.the needle is not correctly inserted
3.wrong size needle for the fabric
4.the wrong foot is attached
5.the needle clamp screw is loose
6. Top tension is too tight
7. Machine could be out of time
I suggest contact brother.com or a dealer about the needles , cause
I've checked on the internet and on the brother site about the needles and couldn't find any information.

Use cut away stabilizer and if you are already doing this, double the layer.
The needles may be breaking because they are too small or not installed correctly.
Try a size 14 machine embroidery needle and check the manual to see if this is with the flat side of the needle to the back of the machine.
One other thing could be that the timing needs to be adjusted. You can find information on how to set the timing at sewusa.com or take the machine to a professional for service - always take an example when the machine has been mis-stitching.
