When I switch on my JVC GR-DX27 I receive a Lens Cap warning when the lens cap has been removed. Additionally I cannot get an image either through the Viewfinder or on the LCD Monitor.
I have repaired this problem for around $95.00 parts and labor - as long as JVC still has the part available at the 'we made a mistake' price.

Your CCD (the main image component) is dead. Ihad a similar problem with a Samsung. If your JVC is in warranty, take it back and have it repaired. If your JVC is out of warranty, dum it and buy something else since the repair will cost as much as buying a new one.
