Question about Cambridge Soundworks C1MUSWKE CD Shelf System

CD Lid/door catch broken, will not stay closed

I have one of the MusicWorks Simple Source Audio Control Centers from Cambridge Soundworks (CSW). This system was given to me. The top load CD lid is a "soft touch" open/close. There is a small, square, spring loaded mechanism with two pincher like prongs mounted in the base. This mechanism holds a single prong from the CD player lid. The part simply pos out of the base and is not connected electrically to anything. It appears to be a lid close/hold mechanism only. I have asked CSW on how I can get one of these parts to replace mine, which is broken, and not allowing the CD door to stay closed. CSW directed me to send it to them to repair as "the part is not available". How can they repair it if the part is not available. I think it is, but need to find out what it's called and where I can find it. I'm sure the part is only a few dollars, and certainly a lot less than sending it to CSW with freight and automatic bench charges. Can anyone help?

I have to struggle with the prongs to get the lid to close so I can play CDs.

I just picked up the center console radio / CD player with the same problem in a thrift shop. I paid $2. for it due to the lid not staying closed...(and it didn't have the amplified speakers). It appears to work except for the lid closing as previously described. I wonder if using a rubberband to keep it closed would work.... haven't had the chance to pickup the amplified subwoofer or volume control yet to test it, but it seemed to work with headphones pluged in and my hand holding down the CD lid.

If anybody is searching for these small plastic latches in 2018 to replace a broken one in a portable MP3/CD player like I was; then try Aliexpress at this address https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Small-do...

AliExpress has a multitude of these replacement latches. How do I determine the correct size of the latch; and instructions on how to replace it would be helpful. Thanks.

Cambridge SoundWorks 765i does not turn on. The light on the power supply is on.

You have a power supply issue and that explains the dead silence. You might want to check the PS area for swollen or leaky caps, a common source of trouble.. Or a broken solid state device. Otherwise .................................Shopping?

Replacement part or schematic for Cambridge Soundworks computer speakers

I'm in the same predicament! I found this - it seems close, though the pins seem to be spaced closer together, but it looks like they might be bent to fit the wider PC board spacing. The rotating shaft also seems smaller - the original is larger than 1/4".

Take it to a Tv repair shop to see they can do something, solder connections become bad, and may need a touch up.

Dim display on Cambridge Soundworks 88CD

I can't find a manual for this but my guess would be there is a setting for the Display to dim it at all times unless you touch a control.
