Question about Cambridge Soundworks 88CD CD Player
I have one of the MusicWorks Simple Source Audio Control Centers from Cambridge Soundworks (CSW). This system was given to me. The top load CD lid is a "soft touch" open/close. There is a small, square, spring loaded mechanism with two pincher like prongs mounted in the base. This mechanism holds a single prong from the CD player lid. The part simply pos out of the base and is not connected electrically to anything. It appears to be a lid close/hold mechanism only. I have asked CSW on how I can get one of these parts to replace mine, which is broken, and not allowing the CD door to stay closed. CSW directed me to send it to them to repair as "the part is not available". How can they repair it if the part is not available. I think it is, but need to find out what it's called and where I can find it. I'm sure the part is only a few dollars, and certainly a lot less than sending it to CSW with freight and automatic bench charges. Can anyone help?

Sorry to arrive so late at this party but if anyone is encountering this problem, you can replace the latch lock with a: sugatsune pr-4pk
Locks in like the original and same form factor!
.
Cost about $1.40

SOURCE: Dim display on Cambridge Soundworks 88CD
I can't find a manual for this but my guess would be there is a setting for the Display to dim it at all times unless you touch a control.
