We were sent over the worse mountain roads going from Lexington SC to Franklin NC. It most certainly was a dangerous way to go on windy mountain roads. The NUVI indicated it was the fastest way and the shortest. Is there some way to only use major highways. MapQuest used interstates all the way when we checked later. Donna Allen

Welcome to FixYa:

I am not sure which model of the Nuvi you are using but I have the Nuvi 660 and can feel your pain. What use is going over a mountain or down roads made of gravel and miles from civilization only because it is technically a "shorter route"

So here are the basic directions to change that setting and get the Nuvi to keep you on the highways and interstates. If it varies too much, either respond with your model number or go to Garmin.com and get the manual for your model:

Go to SETTINGS
then NAVIGATION
click on ROUTE PREFERENCES

You should find what you need here, but to tell the Nuvi which type of roads to avoid and which ones to stick to:

go back to the SETTINGS menu
touch NAVIGATION again
and click on AVOIDANCES

Hope this helps and be sure to keep us updated!

I have just purchase a 2011 countryman with 4 wheel drive and was wondering how this car handles driving in snow. I live in Ottawa Canada and we can get some pretty severe weather.

4 wheel drive is dangerous because it allows you to START rather quickly especially vs a rear wheel drive. The dangerous part is you cannot STOP any faster than any other vehicle.
Driving in snow is all about understanding limitations.
I once drove a Ford Pinto with no snow tires from Niagara Falls to New Hampshire with snow on the road from Syracuse. I had to go up a mountain east of Keene. On the way up I passed a couple of 4WD Jeeps off the road. At the top I had to stop and wait for the snow plow, but I made it all the way up without stopping. YMMV

Mountain Bikes Vs Road Bikes.Mountain bikes have become very sought after and furthermore are usually readily available. A majority of these bicycles will often be a lot more comfy in comparison to road bikes due to the fact that you ride with a considerably more erect posture. They are simply devised for going off the beaten street paths and into places like the rugged slopes as well as mountain tops. If one thinks about it, this is exactly how their name was derived. Fortunately they are usually larger than road bicycles, due to the fact mountain bicycles have to withstand the excessive abuse relating to traveling on difficult, bumpy paths. A lot of them include additional features for example shock absorbers, wide tires, in addition to straight handlebars. You will find there's a suspension system that produces a comfortable drive, along with the heavy, wide tires are generally more unlikely to slip in comparison to the slimmer wheels of the road bicycle. Specialized knobby tires intended for outstanding grip and also a complete suspension are crucial aspects of the design related to mountain bikes. The actual bikes will be meant for difficult and also tough landscapes. The bicycles are engineered to fulfill their unique intent as long lasting off road sports gear. The specific bicycle created for downhill biking is actually extremely well put together and will have the ability to endure high-speed driving on pathways customized courses. These kinds of styles of bikes have got to be continuously transforming as new technologies and material come into play.

Road bikes are produced with a particular style with regards to speedy, lengthy traveling times. The particular frame within the bike is probably the most important element. A very important characteristic in terms of a road bike tend to be how heavy it is in addition to stiffness which decides where the actual energy from your pedal strokes is to be sent. Basically these two elements have a direct impact on how much power is being delivered to the bike chain and therefore the actual wheels. Due to this quality, racing bicycles must sacrifice ease and comfort to get top acceleration. Drop or declining handle bars tend to be positioned beneath the seat level to be able to position the operator in a much more streamlined and sleek posture. The exact driving positioning is actually trying to combat the wind resistant by having he rider be curled on the dropped handle bars. Both sets of tires are generally in close proximity to guarantee the bicycle presents quick and easy handling. In summary, road bicycles are perfect for a lot of types of riding however they tend to be dangerous on rocks as well as other non paved surfaces.

How to you connect to the serial port to a DSR2010?

the 2010 is a legacy KVM DSR, and you might not have the same features that are present on the 8035 model. the settings to connect to the 2010 with a NullModem cable are 9600, 8, none, 1, none (same as Cisco settings).

The 8035 comes with a special adaptor which is DB9 to RJ45 and it comes in the box.

I hope that answers your question.

As far as console logs goes, no such thing on the DSR line.

Change refill in a franklin covey bristol mini pen

Hello, I have a Franklin & Covey Lexington ballpoint which looks similar to yours. To replace the refill pull apart the outer top and bottom sections, grip the plastic top of the refill and unscrew anti clockwise. Remove refill, replace and screw in new refill clockwise (but not too tight). Hope this helps.
