SOURCE: my laptop wont start up..its saying
This message it telling you that the PC cannot "Find" your drive. This usually happens if the drive has failed or the "Boot Track" has been corrupted. Well,I suggest, to try all the "Options" first, press F1...If it boots all good... if still no good... then press F2 and make sure the Hard Drive shows in the setup. If it does NOT show there, it is probably best, to then run the diagnostics, but I am fairly sure at this juncture it will tell you your hard drive is kaput, and you will need to replace it. If it does show up, then we need to fix the boot track... insert your Windows DVD and do a repair, and running the Fixboot command from recovery console.

This seems the Hdd is Not getting Detected , First thing you can try is inserting the hdd back in the system and then get into Setup Utility by Pressing F2 and check whether the hdd is listed or not , If the HDD is not listed that means HDD has gone bad .you need to get a new HDD
it looks like your hard drive has crashed but before i confirm you need to try these steps first.1:remove the hard drive if its a SATA make sure the connectors on the drive and laptop are clean, if not clean it. if its an IDE check for any bent or broken pins.2: connect your hard drive to another pc or laptop using an external cable and if it is detected try and retrieve as much information from it as possible and format it with the quick format option deselected.3:if you dont have an external cable to connect it after you have physically cleaned the hard drive, mount it back in the laptop and check to see if it still gives the error. if it does run a windows installation setup from a disk and see if it recognises your hard drive. you can then format it from there and reinstall the operating system on it. 4: if non of the above methods dont work you should consider replacing your hard drive.
