My Dell Inspiron 530 won't start. 4 Beeps, Soild blue light.

It will shut off randomly, when I'm doing something and just start beeping like crazy. Most of the time It's 4 continuous beeps. Sometimes it's one continuous beep. The fans run very loudly. Sometimes it will get to the dell screen, and just stop. I have to leave it unplugged for days at a time for it to even start up normal. Please help me, I'm about to burn this thing.

According to Dell this is a RAM issue. You can find a list of diagnostic Beep Codes here. Also be sure to inspect the capacitors on your motherboard. If you notice any of them leaking or blown then that is your problem.

If you have extra RAM lying around then swap it into your PC and see if you're having the same problem. If not, pull out any unnecessary RAM just to test it. There are four RAM slots on this PC and you should be able to use any one of them. If your PC turns on then you can isolate which chip is giving you problems. Keep in mind RAM is ideally installed in matched pairs.

If you only have one RAM chip in your computer then I'm afraid you will either have to buy another one or borrow one from a friend to test. Shouldn't be too expensive anyway.

In regards to the computer beeps 4 times this usually points to a memory problem. I would try to reset the memory in the system. Also I would try to boot the system with 1 stick if you have more then one stick as it could be just one of the sticks that are bad.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 530 beeps 6

you have to reseat the memory
Reseat means you have to remove the memory while the computer is unplug from the system

1. Unplug the power cable from the system
2. Press the Power button for about 5-10 secs to drain any electro static discharge
3. Locate the memory bay
it looks like this chaistars.jpg

Theres 2 white clips in each side
you have to press the 2 white clips on each side to remove it
if you 2 memory you have to remove both of them then put it back the way it was removed and push it towards the slot like you see in the picture.

you must heat that it clicks , thats the indicator that its properly seated.
please be careful and do not put too much pressure when pushing/pressing it down.

Hope that helps

Dell inspiron530 won't boot and beeps four times stops and beeps again

The Beeps are a beep code 4 means you have a ram read/write failure. Or a possible motherboard failure in that case you will need to contact Dell or replace it yourself.

Why won't my laptop start up?

according to the manual a series of 4 beeps indicates a "RAM read/write error". Do you know how many sticks of memory you have in your laptop?

My desktop (inspiron 530)started beeping (6 short beeps)when it restart or shuts down; it will do the same when it reboots itself. Now, it will do the same beeps but it won't pass that stage. I also...

HI,
The 6 beeps on the computer suggest a video card BIOS failure.
If you have an add-on video card on the computer . Trying removing the same and then restart your computer. If the the video card is on board on the motherboard. Then the motherboard would need to either service , that would be expensive,or get the motherboard replaced.

Thanks

Solid amber light ON Dell Inspiron 530 desktop. The Fans start and stop immediately. The mother board has the power ON Amber light.

The Yellow Light of Death, anyway turn on Your PC, as it starts You will here some beeps especially on a Dells. Count the beeps , there will be a slight pause so it will beep once then pause then beep again. Count the beeps and that will be Your code. Go to Dell Support site and look up code. Most of the time a Yellow amber light means that there is trouble with Your Motherboard but thats not to say its the Motherboard itself, it could have possibly burned out Your RAM, Processor, Heat fan, even the power supply itself. So look up the code and at least You'll have a better chance of finding the solution, Good Luck
