I used to be able to import pictures onto my laptop but now it does nothing when the usb is plugged into both

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I am trying to connect my Leica Dicomar 12x official zoom 4.0 mega pixel still picture recording camera to my MacBook into iMovie and when I plug the USB from the camera into my computer it is not...

Normally a camera plugged in by USB appears as a disk to the computer. PC connection mode sounds right but there maybe a more suitable mode.

The other way to do it is pull the memory card from the camera and plug that into the computer. You would probably need a suitable USB reader for the memory card. It would then appear as a storage device (disk) to the computer.

You can get a suitable memory card reader for any computer from ebay or amazon.

Olympus FE-230 - will not import certain video to computer

Make sure your not running the cable through a hub of any kind.
Plug it directly into a usb port on the computer.
Sometimes the hub can limit the bandwidth (speed)
and with video you need all you can get.
I'm assuming here that your computer is new enough to have the
2.0 usb standard.
Best of luck Paul

The sound with the sanyo(vpc-5500) digital camera

I thought my pink sanyo VPC-5500 was messed up, but once I imported my pictures and viceos onto my computer, I opened up a vidoe player and the sound worked perfectly. So if you have the USB cable, hook your gigtal camera up to your computer and import what's on it, then you will be able to open up a video player and watch a video that was stored on it.
