The screen on my Garmin GPS streetpilot C330 broke when it fell off the winshield. i can see the screen and it works but because of the cracks, the touch feature of the screen doesnt work. Can i replace the screen myself, if so where can i get the screen, if not where can i get it fixed for less than the $250 Garmin wants.
GPS Nuvi 350 Fell off the mount while driving, screen now is broken not working when pressing keys. Went to Best Buy, and Future Shop referred to GARMIN .COM, cannot seemed to find repair place to replace the screen, what should I do, this Garmin cost $699.00 w/tax it almost $800. Please help. Like original poster, I've got a dent on my Garmin C320 screen - could see everything, but touch feature stopped working. Just finished swapping the screen with the one from my old Dell Axim X3 PDA. Now GPS works again! It seems that older units were using industry-standard LCD that could be easily replaced. Not sure about newer Nuvi systems...

Re:
Unfortunately the only way to get the screen that I have found is from Garmin, and their price is not too silly because the screen is quite a significant part of the cost of the unit. To replace yourself is probably simple enough, but there will always be the chance that then it doesn't work, with garmin at least they should include that in the price.
Best other option would be to pick up a second hand (maybe broken) one yourself - try local repair shops - they may have a box of them. Cannibalising a screen between two identical units should not be hard, although you may need some special screwdrivers or keys to open the unit - doubt it would be anything you can't get at a local hardware store.
If you can get a screen and want to try this, please take some photos and post them and we can try and talk you through the procedure. it will usually be little more than swapping a connector, and possibly some mountings that are glued on that need playing with - hardest part is usually getting the bits to stay in place when you put it back together.
Hope this helps, post again if you need more :)

I have a garmin c330 that works well except the little connection for power broke when it fell from the window. The unit still works well on battery. I need the small connector under the unit to operate with my DC cord. Does anyone have one they do not want or does anyone want the c330 for a small price. I purchased another newer Garmin
ONE, RESET IT !!! (See resetting instructions below)
TWO, let the battery die out!
Waking up your c330...
If you left your Garmin c330 on running
the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it
will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this
point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the
power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin
gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and
under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off.
Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET"
button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery
should come back to life. Cheers
If you are technically incline, purchase a damaged unit off ebay and swap out the parts. Take note that taking the Garmin apart is not difficult, just keep note of how the antenna comes out. That is the only hook I know that will hang up most people.
The instruction manual is available to download from Garmin's website, www.garmin.com. Click on the StreetPilot C330, then go to updates and downloads. You should find the manual there.
Given the cost of buying a new LCD with touchscreen is about $130 USD + shipping. Your best solution is to sell the existing unit and buy a new Nuvi or recondition C330.
Garmin will repair the unit for $150 and provide the lastest update and map.
Pop the face plate off with your thumb nail right uner the Garmin logo. On the right side you will see a reset button. Depress it for 2 seconds. Replace face plate and power back on.
