Question about Maytag Neptune MAH9700 Front Load Washer
Need help drain my neptune front loading washer
On the 9700s it's even easier - three screws on the front bottom panel below the door, then use your hand to unscrew the large round handle in the front center. When you can't unscrew any more, pull gently and the filter / catcher will come out.
It's amazing how much stuff mine held - 4 breastfeeding shields, a pencil, a pen, a fake mouse, and lots of grey gunk.
Screw it back in, put the panel back on, and you're in business.

Hi, Take the outlet pipe, usually goes into a stand pipe, lay it down into a bowl and the water should empty, lift it up when the bowl is full, and if necessary repeat. If it does not empty, there could be a blockage in the pump, or the filter. Tom.

I had the same problem with my Maytag MAH9700, it stopped in one of the cycles with the code that said unable to drain. After reading a lot of the posts on this site, and with some assistance from the diagnostics manual taped to the back of the washer I found the a solution for me. First I followed the diagnostics in said manual, then deduced the drain pump was at fault. (the voltage was making it to the pump, and you could hear (faintly) the pump getting voltage. I removed the back cover (two screws), manually drained the tub as described in other posts, then removed the pump (it is readily accessible). What I found was no fault than my own; after tinkering with the pump, and moving the impeller with a screwdriver, something pop loose. After a little shaking, out came a nail. I would think a nail would not be able to make it to the pump, but there it was. Put it all back together, and voila (sp?), washer working as before. Just wanted to post this, it saved me a service call and probably a new pump. Thanks.
