86-01 Error 86:01 still there. I replaced encoder strip twice, encoder sensor. Carriage PCB and Mech PCB. I'm out of options now. Maybe the scan ax motor, but during scan ax test the motor moved to the middle and I can also take steps left and right. But sensor cant read the marks on the encoder strip. I replaced 2 times the strip and sensor.

# check carriage bushing warn out condition( too much play of carriage causes this error)

# If immediately error appearing do the below discussed activity
# after intializing if error appearing check trailing cable, service station wipers & cappings, cutter position, cutter movement & lubrication on rail.
Detatch power cable & data cable, remove right door, pull out carriage assembly from service station area (if its locked by service station manually unlock it). Remove cable connections, screws & take out service station from the printer.Place the service station out side(ensure that cables has to fix properly) connect the cables, switch on the machine, check for the error..
if error is not appearing: check the service station, found any damage replace it or shoot the problem.fix it back..

Info printer :E

Any malfunctions its gives error 'E'... Check paper jam, carriage struck, cartridges faulty and service related issues.checking carriage:Switch on the machine check carriage(the unit carrying print heads)moving left & right.. if its not moving, it might be struck in service station(service station located at right end and its allow carriage to rest on it during shut down as well as its cleans the print head nozzles). power the machine pull carriage out gently, don't force it..Clean encoder strip: Encoder is located back side of the carriage and its guides carriage to move properly, if encoder became dirty you will get error message, clean encoder with smooth cotton cloth.

Light on printer blinks & "E" appears

I hope you have tried replacing the cartridges. Clean the electrical contacts on the carriage as well as the cartidge using a soft lint free cloth wetted with iso-propyal alcohol. Clean also the "steel rod" on which the carriage moves.

Wipe clean the encoder strip (a flexible coded PVC strip running through the PCB behind the carriage and hooked at the ends) with a DRY soft cloth (DO NOT USE ANY LIQUID TO CLEAN THE ENCODER STRIP TO PREVENT ERASING OF THE CODE). If still dirty Replace.

Your printer should hopefully start working.

THE PRINTER CARRIAGE GOES TO THE RIGHT AND WILL NOT RESET, THE YELLOW LIGHTS COMES ON, AND THE ERROR MESSAGE SAYS PRINTER CARTAGE IS STUCK.

It may be that the encoding sensor or encoding strip may be dirty or damaged. The encoding strip is the striped plastic strip found just behing the print carriage, The encoding sensor is located on the carriage and reads these stripes to establish where the caridge is. Try wiping the encoding strip with a damp clotch, be carefull not to use chemicals or too much preasure as this will damaged the strip.

Any one help my brother display error 48, init unable 48, what are the things that i have to do?

There are several issues that pertain to this code, including a service update. If your printer is still under warranty – visit your local ASC, find one here, this issue is covered! First off, the Service Update, the encoder strip needs to be cleaned with a lint free cloth. The encoder strip is responsible for relaying the position of the print head to the main pcb. If the encoder strip gets dirty, many different problems can occur. The encoder strip is exposed, which allows grease, paper dust, finger prints, ink, etc. to get onto the encoder strip. (The white strip when you lift the scanner cover)
If the machine still errors, the encoder strip needs to be replaced – Part Number LS4467001
If the machine still errors, replace the carriage PCB assembly – Part Number LS6543001
If the machine still errors, replace the Printhead – Part Number LK3211001
If the machine still errors, replace the Main PCB assembly – Part Number LT0284011
