Question about Lite On LITEON DVD-ROM16X, 21600KB/sec (16X) (LITEONDVD16X) DVD Drive

Dvd-rom not able to read pc dvd game

When trying to load a pc dvd game my dvd-rom reads unsupported format in drive d ive through my control panel to see if there was a problem nothing everyone i contact has no idea what the problem is i even exchanged the disk three times thinking it may be a problem with the disk can anyone help?

Stephen buddy, we need to talk. I do NOT understand anything you are trying to describe. Okay, so you installed a FRESH Operating System and now it is NOT recognizing your DVD-rom, right? Okay, restart the computer and let Windows load up fully. Check Control Panel and check your list of Devices. Sometimes, when you re-install and O.S., you may have to update the firmware or drivers for certain devices.

Display Reads - No Read or UNSUPPORTED when using DVD
If you cant play a real dvd in it, the laser is prob out of allignment or broken, if its just dvd that you burned, try changing disc type, there is +R and -R , also if that does not work try a different program to burn discs ? good program is convert X to dvd, not free, unless your good at torrents :)

Can you play PC DVD ROM on an emachines E4026 Desktop PC. because i just had a game brought for me & when i try to load it , the computer reads it as a blank disc Any help appreciated ...
Based on the one and only specs sheet I could find for this model of emachine, it does have a DVD-ROM drive. So in theory it can. Does the unit play DVD Movies? if yes then it should work, try rebooting and then putting the disc in again. I assume the disc is clean and scratch free as the game is new.

If the OS on your computer has ever been reinstalled, you may be missing the driver for the drive, in which case windows would treat it as a generic CD-ROM drive, and not be able to read DVDs, you can get the drivers for the drive from the emachines website if this is the case.

CD-ROM drive, whentrying to read a video DVD shows "A disc with unsupported file format" What does this mean?
that means the dvd is written in a different language and needs to be redone in a file format that is compatible with unit.you can find such programs on line to do that .just googel freeware and do some lookn im sure you will find more than one that will work for you .good luck

I'm trying to install a PC-DVD Game to my LG CD-ROM CRD-8521B, It plays CD's but wont play DVD's of any sort. Really need help...
The CD rom is limited to CD's. In order to read a DVD, you will need to install a DVD rom. My suggestion is to get an external DVD Burner - i just bought a Samsung slim external DVD burner that reads / writes CD's and DVD's.
You will have no luck ever reading a dvd in a cd rom.

Dvd rom drive does not work
Hi,
Try to open control panel then click add hardware. If you have entered the dialogue box, answer whatever is asked according to what you're searching. Then click whatever hardware your PC would like to detect then click finshed. After the detection, close the wizard box then try to open your DVD ROM and try it.

Try downloading a program called " RadarSync" it works like driver detective, might possibly help you out.

DVD Drive Troubles
This can be due to the reason that the certain cd roms cannot be read by your drive. please insert and check other brand cd roms...if they run then the cd rom u r using cannot be read by ur Cd.dvdw DVD drive

Problems with D drive
Sounds like your D: drive isn't a DVD-ROM drive.

Have you been able to run DVDs from that drive before?
- If not, then you probably have a standard CD-ROM or CD-RW drive, which is not capable of reading from a DVD. You would have to purchase a DVD-ROM drive in order to play or copy anything from a DVD.

My combo drive doesn't read any dvd. why is it so?
You may need to get a later version of power dvd, but if you download windows media player 11, you should have no problem with dvd's, but in the settings enable all formats so as it wil play almost anything.
