Question about KitchenAid Superba Architect KSCS25INSS Side by Side Refrigerator
Sassy, the red led should flash 2x followed by a pause, repeatedly with the door open. If you hold the left side flap down, it should stay on steady. If it does this you know the optics are ok. Sounds like you just hooked it up to water. The ice maker thermostat has to be at least at 17 degrees before it will call for water and then it will have to prime the lines to the ice maker first before filling the mold. The easiest way to reset the icemaker is to unplug the refer for 30 seconds. Other things you want to check are that the ejector blades (blades that push the ice out) are in the 2:00 position. Check to see that the fill tube that fills the mold is not frozen over. I have a feeling that your lines just needed to be primed. Hope this helps you understand this unit a little better...Catriver...post back.

I e-mailed Kitchen-Aid, who replied the following day. Turns out I was not patient enough to wait for the manufacturing of ice. The refrigerator works fine.
The suggestion that Kitchen-Aid needs to recall the Superba is unsubstantiated.

Thanks Catriver!
I think I replied to "guest" while you were posting your solution.
You may have read above, there really wasn't an issue with the fridge outside of my impatience. You are right, the water line needed to be primed, since we had just installed it.
We have had the Superba for about a month now and there are no problems with it.

unlike her, my frig is 2 years old with no problems before. 3 days ago took large chunk (hadn't been using much ice) out of bin on door. Looked today, no ice in bin, red light flashing. Unplugged for 1 minute, when replug 1st light on steady then red light went out. 5 min later opened door, red light flashing again. Don't hear water going into ice maker. No problem dispensing as ice that was in bin still dispenses without a problem. Water flows from water dispenser without a problem - filter recently changed. How do I check the water flow tube you mention? Where is it? Thanks for any help you can provide. [email protected] I have Kitchen Aid KSRA25CN5500 mfg 11/04
