with the 2 gb the problem its that the palm tungsten e2 can't read more than 1gb on a SD, if it does not read even 1gb then the problem may be the contacts can be dirty or broken, other solution may be that you buy the SDHC driver form palm powerups that let you put SDHC memory up to 32gb on your palm, but you need to check first if the contacts of your palm SD slot are not broken!
Palm Expansion Slot - Expansion cards can be added for extra memory, data back up or slot content such as reference and language translators, sold separately.
You can use SD, SDIO or MMC memory cards. Take your unit to Office Depot, or Best Buys and purchase one. You can probavbly try it in the store before purchasing.
The problem is simply that the Tungsten E2 cannot read SD cards larger than 1 GB. However, there is a solution that will enable it to read larger cards. A driver called PowerSDHC is available from PalmPowerups.com that will enable the E2 to read cards of any size. I'm now running an 8 GB SDHC card on my E2!
Thall shalt format card for E2
1. Click on time in upper left hand corner
2. Select info
3. On device drop menu select sd card
4. Lower right corner select more
5. Upper right select card
6. Select FORMAT CARD
If you can't format...the card is toast
Do you have real player on your E2 and your desktop. I can tell you exactly how to do it. Go to fixya live chat and ask for Just_bobz. I had an E2 with 150 songs on it. Mine broke for other reason but I still remember
They won't. Your SD card has to be installed in your E2 and you have to load the pics (multiples if you want using your media icon on your desktop software. There are more steps which I know by heart. Do you have the desktop software?
As the previous responder said, the Tungsten E2 cannot read cards over 1 GB. However, there is a wonderful solution available at PalmPowerups.com called PowerSDHC. This wonderful little driver will enable the E2 to read cards of any size! At $20.95, it's a bargain. I installed it on my E2 and now I use an 8 GB SDHC chip!
