CRUSTY'S LEFT IN GLASSWARE

I have looked all over the web trying to figure out what is wrong with my dishwasher. Most items come out clean, other than the glasses. I would say out of 10 glasses in the washer, when I unload on avg I have to wash 5 out. They have this tiny little particles inside. Normally they are in the bottom, but can be up the inside. I have tried running the washer without anything in it. I have tried less deter and more deter. I move where I kept the soap, so that it was not keeping moist. I buy small amounts now so I don't have to worry about that. It probably gets used on avg 5 times a week. It doesn't seem to matter if it is fully loaded...or a few dishes. I opened it while on its cylce to make sure everything is working...and all the spray arms move and have water. Any help??? oh and my water heater is 150* I can't think of anything else you need...but email me if you do.

Things that have been known to exacerbate this problem are: 1. Putting too much food in the dishwasher - especially things like breakfast cereal, rice or couscous. Try scraping plates and pots thoroughly before loading them. 2. Not cleaning the strainer/filter - if not sure how to do this, check the owner's manual 3. Putting glasses in on their sides, rather than completely upside down - this creates a puddle of dirty water that can't get rinsed off and subsequently dries crusty. Sorry if the first three are insultingly obvious - but they are the most common causes of this problem. 4. Debris in the spray arms - you can usually get them off easily enough (though beware of left-hand threads on some models), then give them a flush through under the tap. 5. One or more spray arms put back on upside down (OK, confession here - I've only seen this happen once, and it was me that had done it. Took me weeks to realise). A.

There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. it actually filters the water going into your dishes. the dishes look dirty because your water has a lot of calcium and magnesium in it making them appear cloudy or dirty. the dishwasher filter reduces those minerals and my dishes look perfect now. no more dirty and grimy looking dishes. i also dont waste time washing them by hand before and after the dishwasher. hahaha you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com. use code DFMTEN and you will get 10% off. it fits right under your sink and is very affordable. you will be glad you bought this product. thanks

Is this normal for Miele dishwasher? - some water left below filter and not everything dry after cycle

Plastic items do not get dry because they do not get as hot as glassware. A lot of moisture inside is do to the evaporation of water on the dishes during the dry cycle. Some water remains in the dishwasher because it is impossible to pump all of it out. There is nothing wrong with your dishwasher.

Glasses and frying pans not clean at end of cycle. Residue on glasses and cups, food particles on frying pans.

it's generally not a good idea to put really greasy items in a dishwasher along with relatively clean items such as glassware and plates and cutlery, as most recent good quality dishwashers come with a soil sensor that ends the wash cycle once the dishes appear clean, and all the grease from your frying pan will cause the soil sensor to take longer to detect clean water.

Calcium like deposits on plastic and glassware after cyc

Check the quality of water used in the machine. If water has hardness this may happen. Use water softener attached on line to the dish washer.

Very possible the top and bottom rotors are not turning correctly. Remove them then physically clear each hole with a large needle. Wash repeatedly with hot water and carefully bang rotors to dislodge crusty undesolved soaps internally until satisfied all is clean.Replace rotors and retry.

There is always ''a gritty sandy'' deposit left on glassware.

Try using liquid soap instead of powder.
Let me know how it works.

Crusty stuff on glasses after wash cycle

I never figured out what caused this problem. I cleaned it and took it all apart, could not find any debris lodged anywhere. However, I solved this problem! I now only use Cascade Complete dishwasher detergent. Has to be the "complete" version of Cascade. No more grit - nice clean dishes now and sparkling glasses.
