Red clean light is on. I cleaned the blades on my ionic pro. It wouldn't turn on. button stayed red. I washed the blades, blew air through the machine for dust removal, and pull the wire cleaning mechanism. The red clean light remains on.
Solution, perhaps...
All electrical contacts can get a film on them. Try cleaning the contacts (at the bottom of the blade unit; you should see the three with the blades out) with an alcohol swab (make sure the contacts are dry before reassembly in this case) or a pencil eraser (vacuum the debris out before attempting to start it again).
If those contacts don't make up properly, the unit will think it needs cleaning, even though it doesn't.

Check the back of the unit for a filter or a cover and clean it out

Remove that little plastic piece that is supposed to clean the wire. You will have to manually clean the machine from then on but if your machine is broke manual cleaning is better than not working at all.

The unit has an electronics malfunction. Return to the factory for repair. If you are a do it yourselfer then the problem should be obvious. it is NOT a fuse.

Usually answered in minutes!
I have the same problem, even "deep" cleaning didnt fix the problem, red light is still on
Same problem, red light remains lit.
I cleaned my ionic pro cleaner but the red light remains on
I have the same problem. I've thoroughly cleaned the machine and still red light is on saying clean. Help!!!!!
I cleaned the blades and after throughly drying them and reinstalling them the red cleaning light will go out for a minute then come on and stay on. It all looks very clean to me. I cannot find the sensor for this, so I can try to bypass it. Must be in the bottom of unit. Has anyone found a wiring diagram?
Yes, and I called the 800 number on the back of the unit for help yesterday. The person that answered said she was going to send an email to "customer support" and they would call me. It's been 32 hours and still no call.
Same problem. I have cleaned the blade and taken an air compressor nozzle and blown all the dust out. Everytime I turn the unit on, the Red clean light comes on. Did anyone figure out a solution?
cleaned the filter and red light stays on and unit wont work
Same problem, with a twist.
Machine recently cleaned, so no "Clean" LED lit up, but the unit won't switch back on. Intending on calling the company tomorrow and finding out what their idea is on repair. Unit is needed badly. Tried everything in the manual to get it to come back on, too. Very frustrated.
(unit shows "901PTS" on bottom label)
followup to my post on Nov 18 ... I never received a callback from Ionic Pro and I've not had time to try again. Instead I will chalk this up to a very expensive lesson and make sure everyone I know here's about my negative experience. By the amount of "hits" on Google, this is obviously a known design flaw and Ionic does not have a solution.
Yes. I had same problem.
My ionic pro will come on but will only blow very low even on the high setting what could be wrong
