Clesn the contacts on the controllers with a pencil eraser that is rough, not the soft ones, erasers are good for cleaning contacts! or use contact cleaner spray, but be carefull not to get any on the laser... or sandpaper 2 clean the contacts, if not could be the cable inside has broken!

I dunno mine do the same thing.....its because the game is not clean.controlers are needed to clean......so ppl open the controler with a screw driver;blow it;then put ur controler in and it should work

Dreamcast rules all you need to do is open up the dreamcast and look near the controller ports there will be a big resistor got to radio shack get a new one(the colored stripes identify it) and solder it in or have someone else do it. very easy fix......................... this problem occurs from using 4 controllers with 4 vmu's and 4 rumbles packs all at once. it overloads it.

I have the same problem. I got my dreamcast off of E-bay and it works just fine (only for 3 hours). It read all the games great, but in the middle of playing a game it dose this blip like thing on the tv screen then it comes back to the game, but after it did the blip thing the dreamcast wouldent read any of my 4 controllers. I am very angry at this problem. I took me dreamcast apart all the way down to the main chip board and I couldn't find any problems, no burns, no blown fuses or anything like that. please help me.
