Where in south africa can i buy a electric dog treat maker

Hello, Emmie -

I am answering from the USA. These are all I could find being sold in South Africa:

Bake A Bone
https://www.pricecheck.co.za/offers/107015027/E.+Mishan+%26+Sons+-+Pet+Products+Bake-a-bone+The+Original+Dog+Treat+Maker

Sunbeam Gourmet Dog Treat Maker
https://www.pricecheck.co.za/offers/104156668/Sunbeam+Gourmet+Dog+Treat+Maker+Non-stick+Electric+Bone-shape+Recipe+Pet+Biscuit

However, upon looking further, neither of those products are available / in stock.

I did find a cookbook of dog treat recipes which may interest you:

How to make your own homemade dog treats

Making your own dog treats can be a great way to save a little money and at the same time ensure that the treats you feed your dog are as nutritious as possible.

Here is my favorite recipe for homemade dog treats:

2 cups of whole wheat flour

4oz of pureed baby food (ensure there is no onion/onion powder in the ingredients); my dog prefers the chicken and sweet potato varieties

You will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Next mix you ingredients together until you have formed a stiff dough (you may need extra flour or some water to reach the desired consistency).

On a lightly floured surface, rool out your dough to a thickness of 1/4". Use a cookie cutter (we have a bone shaped one) to cut out desired shapes from your dough.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place treats about 1/2" apart. Place in the oven for 20 minutes. Remove treats and allow time to cool.

Once you have mastered this very easy recipe, you can get more creative with the ingredients. Try adding peanut butter or blueberries to the tops.

The following link will provide you with a few more recipes for some successful homemade treats for your dog.

Can anyone give me a really easy recipe for making bird treats that I can make with my kids?

: Most of the bird treat recipes are pretty simple and if they aren't - just don't bother. Here's a YouTube video where a woman shows you step by step how she makes her bird treats:

If I want to put out bird seed as a treat for the birds, how do I hang it? I don't want to use a table, I want to hang it from the trees.

There are recipes for homemade bird seed treats that involve suet or some other sticking agent that keeps it together so you can hang it in a lump. But I came across a very cute web posting with a recipe for a bird seed treat that is heart shaped! Check out this link http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/activities/crafts/wild-bird-treat/

Do I need to buy a special kind of treat for my Maltese? She's so small and I don't want to give her something that may hurt her.

There are treats that are better to buy smaller dogs. I have a Boston terrier and also bought him small dog-specific treats. I will send you a few links; however you can also go to a local pet store and they will help you out.

My dog is overweight and I don't want to take his treats away from him entirely. Can anyone suggest some good treats for a doggie on a diet?

You should get your dog all-natural treats filled with proteins. I have located a great site about low-fat, all-natural treats for you to browse through.
