Small pieces (Not big ones, maximum size of your thumb nail!!!) of real food such as roast beef, steak, ham, and turkey, i have noticed that dogs that i have trained will learn fastest with these treats !

Treats used while training should be small in size. I highly recommend small treats with good
natural flavors. My favorite treats are
from Foster & Smith, I will send you the link for great training treats. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=12139

SOURCE: Which treats are good for training my dog?
Any treat whether it is meaty or crunchy is good enough for your dog, however the treat should be small enough for it to be consumed quickly so that you dog don't become too involved with the treat to concentrate on the training.

Before you actually start leash training, I recommend
attaching a leash to your dogs collar while at home and letting your puppy get
used to the leash being there. After a
few days, you can then begin leash training.
During the beginning stages, you should walk your puppy on the leash
without pulling/jerking. If your puppy
starts to pull on the leash, I suggest standing still. This lets your puppy know that you do not
want them to pull on the leash. Always
use positive reinforcement while leash training. Below I have attached a link to a site that
helped me leash train my dog.
