I was watching tv and then it shut its self off. It then turned back on by itself but instead of the normal black it was red. now most black backgrounds have a red tint. I tried doing convergency and then tried to change the tint and color. what exactly do i need to do.
This is an indication that the red gun is being driven too hard. Have you tried to adjust the red color control? If not try this first and if the control can not adjust the color then you will have to find out if the control grid on the red tube is working and has the proper voltages present. Which you will need the following equipment to do. Multimeter Oscilloscope Along with these you will need a schematic to show you what the signals and voltages should be. And I might also suggest having a pattern generator and using the color bar signal since more then likely that is the one being used in the schematic as the reference signal.

I have had issues with my tv turning itself off every so often for months now but have always benn able to turn it back on and it was fine. But, now the problem is that there is discoloration in he screen, and it happened while was on. and now it stays discolored has like a yellowish tint. What could it be??
