Cannot transfer movie clips from camera to PC

Hi - I see there is a thread about this topic already, but I am unsure how to add a comment to it. I see no link to do so. Anyway, I took a bunch of movies on my camera and I'd like to transfer them to my PC. When I open Windows Explorer, the camera icon is listed. I click explore and all I see are the pictures - no movies. There is one icon called DDISCVRY and it is 0 bytes. Can you please help me figure out how to watch these movies from my pc?? Thank you!!

Click on menu goto setup option 3 the top you will see "USB mode" Change that from what looks like a printer (or web) to what looks like a card. Your camera will show up as a removable drive and not as a scanner. Cheers

No sound when playing back Movie.

Hi,
DSC-S730 does not have inbuilt speaker to give sound in playback in camera, however, transfer movie clip in computer and playback it with Media Player to have sound as well.

I have a sony dsc-s500 digital camera I can't figure out how to play back video's. Does it actually have the feature to record?

DSC-S500 can record short movie clip with sound and you can playback it on camera and can transfer that movie clip to PC
Check below jog-dial mark to set camera to record movie clip.

To playback, set camera to Playback.
Need further info, let me know.

Hi, connect the cam and PC using 4 pin firewire cable. Switch on the cam. Open Windows Movie Maker and import the video from device.

No sound

You will get sound when you transfer recorded movie clips in your computer and playback in computer.
DSC-S500 Sony Cybershot has built-in mic to record sound but doesn't have speaker to give sound during playback in camera. You need to import movie files in your PC and playback in PC to hear sound.

Can't transfer video from Camera to the laptop

I phoned canon with a similar problem.
Poss reasons: 1 A clash between codecs - try removing as many codecs as poss then installing something like Ace mega codecs (this did not work for me). 2. Has the card been formatted on the computer ? I have since reformatted my card using low level format option on the camera. It has worked fine with 2 video clips I tried today - but I still cannot play my earlier problem files.

Try to open it through explorer. Do you see your camera as an external drive under "my computer" when connected? good.
