My black sony 32" trintion decided it was going to stop turning on for me. When I plug it in it makes a clicking noise like it wants to, but I get no picture at all. I looked on the internet about sony codes but mine only flashes 1 continuous blink once A Second, No Pausing. Can you please try and try me determine what is wrong.

Re: sony 32" trintion
Dear Friend, Nothing you can do,. unless you have good solid state Electronics service experience. From your description, it looks like the FBT Transformer has become faulty, and will need replacement. Normally, in such a sitautaion, the Horizontal output Transistor also gets short circuited, and will have to be simultaneously replaced.

How much lld are you? How many Plasma sets did you repaired so far? Do you think repairing a plasma TV will be very like eating a ripe banana?
Contact any well experienced service technician; man.

Possible failure of the display unit , the fault seems serious and there is no solution from the outside. It needs attention inside the camerawhich will need experience. I would suggest that the camera is delicate and must be looked into at the sony service centre to check for an estimate before you decide. If the cost seems too much you may ask for the part required and search, maybe try for a salvaged part. Decide accordingly. Good day
Good day.
There may have been some problem in the horiontal transistor. Also, Check for the zener diode that controls the supply going to the flyback. It might got busted due to the sudden supply surge.
The slight flash on the screen is usually because the CRT (picture tube) is holding a better than average charge and this is what we call "pre-glow" The noise that you hear, is that everytime you turn it on or just after it has been off for a while? If only after the set has been sitting off for a while then your noise is the internal degauser for the CRT and that noise is 100% normal. The degausers in Sony TV's are so strong they usually make the plastic cabinet vibrate a bit.
