The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

If it still fails, you have a failed membrane keypad.

On this model, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame assembly which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame.

That is a simple do-it-yourself job, and the part is very affordable.

It is part number 8205376 and you can get it from the Pros here.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven (as MH3184XPB0 with no dashes) here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Frigidaire microwave model ffmv164lsa constant beeping, with little symbol to the top left hand side of the clock displaying with the beep.

Hopefully no one sprayed a liquid cleaner directly onto or near the keypad...

From page 23 of the owner's manual:

"Wipe the microwave oven inside and out with a soft cloth and and warm (not hot) mild detergent solution. Then rinse and wipe completely dry."

"Clean the outside surface of the microwave with soap and a clean damp cloth. Dry with a clean soft cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts of the oven, do not let water seep into any vents or openings."

If there is moisture damage, it may dry out by itself if you leave it overnight with the door open. If not, the warranty would be voided and you'd have to arrange for out of warranty service.

If there is no moisture damage, and it failed not due to outside forces, then you should contact the manufacturer to arrange warranty service.

Hey JT Tai, I appreciate your post!
The symbol at the top left hand side of your display could be child lock symbol or vent symbol. If it is the child lock you should be able to press and hold the stop/cancel button down for 3 seconds to release the child lock.

If the light is on for the vent I would seek assistance from a professional for proper diagnosis and repair to be completed on your microwave. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

I have a double draw dishwasher . the child lock key comes up and the dishwasher does not start

The lock button activates/deactivates the Keylock or the Childlock functions. This button has either a key or a padlock icon. I believe that on this model it is a padlock

Keylock

The Keylock feature disables all the buttons on the control panel.

To activate, press and hold the button until you hear one beep (3 seconds). The symbol

appears in the electronic display when the Keylock feature is activated.

Childlock

The Childlock feature locks the drawer and disables all the buttons on the control panel.

To activate, press and hold the button until you hear two beeps (5 seconds). The symbol

appears in the electronic display when the Childlock feature is activated.

To cancel the Childlock feature, press and hold the button until you hear one beep and the
symbol disappears from the electronic display.

This information can also be found in your product's Use and Care manual. If yours has been misplaced you can download or print one from Fisher and Paykel's website. http://www.fisherpaykel.com/customercare/userguide/index.cfm

If this doesn't work... And I've seen these units do some odd things. Try unplugging it for about an hour (if plug is not under sink you can turn of the breaker that powers the unit). Then plug it back in and see if that works. These dishwasher like many modern day appliances have solid state microprocessors in them which sometimes need reset just like a computer.

Hope this helps.

I attempted to hit the self clean button but received a F9 beeping flashing error until I unplugged the range from electricity. How do I stop this F9 error?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
Error F9 means Latch unlock lower and is displayed due to obstruction in door lock mechanism. If after cleaning the door lock mechanism the problem is still there then replacing the door lock mechanism is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Whirlpool oven

When I had a similar problem, the door wouldn't unlock even after unplugging, waiting 30 minutes, and plugging the oven back in. I finally had to manually unlock the oven by turning the lock latch motor myself.

Here's a good page that describes what the lock latch motor looks like and where it's located. Of course, there is 220V current running around inside there, so please unplug before removing the back access cover and put it back on before plugging the oven back in.

My symptoms:
  • Oven failed to complete auto-clean cycle.
  • Oven started beeping; control panel showed FSE 1
  • About a minute after plugging in, oven started beeping and displaying FSE 1 again
Once I unlocked the door manually and plugged back in, the oven started behaving normally.

Display board defectiveIf touch pad is a separate unit then unplug it and see if code comes back.  Unplug range before doing so.  Once touch pad is disconnected, plug range back in and see if code shows.  Wait a few minutes.  If no code then replace touch pad.  If code does come on while touch pad is disconnected then replace main control.  If touch pad and main control are all one part then replace the whole control.  Doubt if you would have any luck trying to unstick the bad button as stated above.
