thank you dmkjjones27! I finally got around to ordering the inertial unbalance switch as you suggested, despite the fact that Maytag certified repair personnel said this switch would not repair my problem. I replaced the switch tonight and ran a fairly full load through set to max-extract and sure enough it spun to beat the band. We no longer have to ring out the wash before moving it to the dryer. You deserve a positive rating for this suggestion, thanks again!thank you dmkjjones27! If manually turning the timer allows it to spin and drain, then I would say the used timer installed was also defective. Try a new timer. You will save money if you get it online or go to an appliance parts store like "Mid-America Appliance" rather than Sears or the likes. Hope this helps.
hi gar.... sounds like your dryer vent pipe or outdoor vent is partially clogged with debris. thoroughly clean it out and it will work great once again. Joe
I just recently purchased a used Maytag MLE2000AYW Stacked washer/dryer. The problem I am having is that the washer unit seems to turn on, the lights go on, fills with water, but doesn't not engage in the wash or spin cylce. There also seem to be a kind of intermittent spinning sound every five seconds or so when it is in the wash cylcle. Can anybody give me some ideas to troubleshoot for?
I'm trying to remove the top cover in order to relace one of the fins inside the drum. The screws came loose and let go. I'm struggling to get the top off. Which screws in the from need removed to release the front? Thanks.
