Uninstall IE7. This is the problem. Had the same issue myself! IE6 will reinstall automatically when you uninstall IE7.

A long shot here, but if you right click on one of the hyperlinks and try to save it, determine the last 3 letters of the file name (it's extension) and check under My Computer, Tools, Folder Options and then the File Types tab to be sure that extension is associated with the proper application. If the links are supposed to take you somewhere else within the program, that it sounds like a call to the software manufacturer's tech support or a look on their website might be in order.

Hyperlink as the name suggests, is a connection that links two files or objects with respect to their location.
if the location changes then the link is cut, so it wont function.
if u have moved doc from one pc to another then it's more obvious that the link has broken due to the loaction, though the folder or file which is located in some specific direcotry remains as it is, but it has changed it's properties of address.
e.g.
a telephone located in your house has a specific number, now if you either change your tel number or change your house then obvioulsy the link is cut so no one can dial in and talk to u.

Outlook 2007 Windows Vista will not allow hyperinks

Hello,

You might find the answer to your question here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA012299621033.aspx

In short:

Stop disabling links and functionality in all messages

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Preferences tab, under E-mail, click Junk E-mail.
3. Clear the Disable links and other functionality in phishing messages (recommended) check box.

Note If you decide to select this check box later, Outlook will disable all the links in messages that were evaluated as suspicious by the Junk E-mail Filter, and you will receive warnings about suspicious links.

Also read the complete topic. There is some interesting stuff inside..

Clicking outlook express hyperlinks gives not responding message

First download and reinstall Internet Explorer, that has Outlook Express built in. See Internet Explorer: Get It Now.

If that does not work, do system restore to a date before you started having the problem. See System Restore on Windows XP.
