Hi i have a problem with my laptop the screen will not light up and activity on the screen is barely visible. it did once light up but on power up the light was gone.
Fn + F5 will allow another screen to work ok.
The computer is clean and is otherwise working ok.my guess is the backlight has a loose connection or needs replacing ? can you help me repair it what parts will i require? Thanks Indy

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :-

Download the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure youselect the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers youthat require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on yourlaptop. That could be due to a few things. Firstly download iobit.com and run the registry utility then run Smart Defrag 2. Than run CHKDSK/F to clear errors on the hard drive, that can be run within iobit.com That should do it.
