After a power outage.... the hood does not work. the power is there but the display does not light up, the lights will not come on and the fan will not come on. what could be needed here? thanks, diana
Diana, the tech sheet I have states that if the unit has a power interruption, reset the house circuit breaker to the hood, if made before 2001. If after 2001, serial number beginning with DA press the start button to reset the hood. Let me know if it worked, Catriver..post back.

hi catriver...
thanks for the reply.
i tried both resetting the circuit breaker and the start button... no luck. could it be the fuse in the black box? i can't determine if it is blown...

I have the same problem. My electrician brother figured out it was the fuse but I could not find an 8 amp 250 volt fuse that is the same size as the one on the hood. We can I get the fuse?
WONT' TURN ON AT ALL
had same problem with 8 amp fuse replaced fuse but only ran for about 15 minutes before it blowed the new fuse again. What can cause this to happen .
fan doesnt work, lights don't work. Tried resetting the circuit breaker; that didn't fix the problem
Lights on the hood stopped working after a power outage.
The power went out and when it came back on the lights, blower etc on the hood does not work.
We had the exact same thing happen after a power outage. It was the fuse as well. What pain to get too! I know what I will ask next time I buy a hood! LOL! Thanks for your help! Maggie
How to get to the Fuse and circuit Bearker.
Same GE Monogram range hood ... had a brief power outage a month prior ... but everything on the hood quit working (lights, switches, display, fan) while we were standing in the room a month later. We also had a circuit board on a Miele vacuum cleaner burn up at the instant of the power outage. Any thoughts?
Could this be a "dropped phase" utility interruption?
I have had the same issue. The hood seems dead after a power outage.
Checking the fuse, in the black box, finds it intact.
I have found that removing the fuse (inside the black box) and replacing it (with the same good fuse) restores operation.
I don't understand why cycling power to the hood does not do the same thing, but, it dosen't.
