There is a sensor which sense paper jam. Due to dust, paper piece this problem may occur. Try to clean printer with vacuum cleaner.

Don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. Canon MP160
My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Someone replied to my problem, i tried it and it fixed 1st time. Also seems to of worked for others

Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving push it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now

Lexmark X3470 paper jam

There is a foreign object of some sort in the paper path which probably caused the jam originally. If you cannot see it looking into the paper slot at the top rear, turn the printer up side down while carefuly holding it shut and shake it vigorously in every direction. It make take many tries but I promise you, thereIS something in there. Go to fixyourownprinter.com for many posts solving this problem.

Lexmark X5150 won't accept paper.

More then likely with it doing that. Something is in the paper path blocking one side of the paper.

Clear paper jam

Sometimes there is little bits of paper stuck inside a sensor causing the printer to detect a jam. Use an air duster can to and shoot some air at all the sensors. The sensors look like little plastic fingers that get pushed down when paper moves over them.
