SOURCE: to create a recovery partition in harddisk

Unfortunately the Recovery partition could not be reacreated manually. But you can recover it by using the Y410 Recovery Disc but that means reinstalling everything and youll end up with windows vista again. You can reinstall XP but do not delete the partition that usually has 10-15GB of space because that is the hidden partition for the recovery. You can call 18774536686. If your computer is out of warranty, it would only cost you 59$ for the recovery disc

SOURCE: i have lenovo z560 Corei5

Hello,
for years companies used to give DVD's with the factory image in it. It is used these late years not to give DVD but have the image saved on a partition in the hard drive and giving you the option to make an image of Windows and applications in a DVD.
So now that you cannot have your old hard drive, you can find a DVD/CD of windows, it must be the same edition with your Windows label product key under the laptop (e.g. Vista Home Premium English, 7 Professional Spanish) and you can get drivers from Lenovo's website and the utilities also.
As long as you cant find a DVD of windows from a friend, you can contact Microsoft to send you one, maybe with a small fee.

Ideapad Z560 neither accessing BIOS setup or is starting normally

Your bios seems corrupted. You will probably need to reflash from a thumb drive which is bootable. The F2 should get you to booting screen to access the thumb drive to boot from to flash the bios.

Click Here to Learn How to Create a System Repair Disc for Free
It turns out that Microsoft is going to let you create your own Windows 7 or Vista repair disc when Service Pack 1 comes out in a month or so. If you can't wait that long, the nice people over at Neosmart have created their own Windows 7 or Vista Repair Disc available for download. Update: it looks like the discs are no longer free.
The file is an ISO image file... if you are familiar then skip to the link, otherwise we've also got instructions on how to create a CD from the ISO file.
Burn Windows 7 or Vista Recovery Disc ISO to CD
You may already have a tool to do this such as Nero, but the best tool available for burning ISOs is ImgBurn, a freeware utility that does nothing else but burn ISO images, and it does it well.
Open up ImgBurn, and then click on the "Browse for a file" button, selecting the file you downloaded from Neosmart.

Put a blank CD into the drive, and then click the big Write button.

That's about all there is to it... you now have your very own Vista Recovery CD.
Download ImgBurn from imgburn.com
Download Windows 7 or Vista Recovery Disc from neosmart.net

Note that this download is no longer free

hope this helps

The laptop lenovo z560 does not switch on. With battery it shows 2 short flashes of battery charge idicator, an one long (about 10 sec) and than nothing is happening. Withou battery nothing happens after...

Hi smialkovskyi,

With this specific concern that you do have, unable to turn on your Lenovo Z560, there 3 components that need to be checked. Your battery, the AC adapter (charger) and as well as the DC In port.

1.Based on what you have said, with the battery alone you have noticed that it's led indicator will show however still can't turn on system. Battery seems to be in good condition however no enough charge to turn on the system.

2. For your AC adapter, when you're using it without the battery nothing happens. To check if this is defective try using another AC adapter that is compatible to your unit. If your computer turned on using another AC adapter then your charger needs replacement. (You may also try using your charger to other unit where it is compatible, just to test).

3. However, if after doing the previous instruction and still system won't turn on then it could be the DC In port which is defective. This port is built in to *********** board.

After doing all these you need to contact Lenovo. They might be replacing your charger or *********** board if system is under warranty.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

I copied an original game (Hitman) and burned it but it did not run, may i know how to crack the game so i can play it

what disc did you use to burn the game onto? for Playstation you will have to burn the game on a DVD disc +R for it to work,

if you copied the game from a disc and burnt it like burning a normal disc it may cause errors as well,

download Magic Disc http://download.cnet.com/MagicDisc/3000-7970_4-10383679.html creat an ISO copy from the game disc that you borrowed, once the ICO is created from magic disc, use magic disc as well to mount the ISO file you created thenyou can use Nero or Alchohol burning software, Magic disc will create a virtual disco n your system mount the ISo you created on the virtual drive, then open your burning tool Nero/Alchohol then select copy DVD select the virtual Drive then select the path where the game will be burnt on make sure you use a DVD +R disc ^_^ and that the file is not more than 4.7GB if it is then you will need to use a dual layer DVD + R disc

When i try to burn a video file onto a dvd disc it says at the end that theres not enough room on disk, i use nero ultra, and 4.7 gb 120 mins disks

The file must be bigger than 4.7gb!

Use Nero Vison to create a DVD video, it gives you the option to make it fit the discs you are using. It will do all the converting required to play the disc in a consumer DVD player.

Nero Vision provides step by step instructions on how to do it.
