I got a new Nikon D40 today and put the memory card in before setting up the menu. The menu comes up in Japanese. After looking at the manual I see the menu to choose a language only comes up the 1st time you turn the camera on. I didn't get that menu. I guess because the memory card was already in. Don't know. Is there some way to get this camera set to English? Thanks, fayrae
Try this - describes the reset on page 14 or the language menu on page 35 http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d40/users-guide/d40-users-guide.pdf hope this helps:)
