Cannot insert tape into canon MV800. Always ejects
I recently charged my camcorder and message cam up on screen to remove tape. i ejected tape and reinserted it but it spins up , bleaps a few times and auto ejects. The tape does not retract into the camcorder. If I remove the tape, (I have tried several tapes) mechanism retracts normally when empty. however as so as i put tape in again, same old problem it will not retract and auto ejects. Is this a major repair or is there a simple fix?
My problem is exactly the same as soon as I try to insert a tape, and I have tried several brand new and ones I've used before, it tries to spin then beeps and ejects. My problem is exactly the same as soon as I try to insert a tape, and I have tried several brand new and ones I've used before, it tries to spin then beeps and ejects.
Hi, we have the same problem. Mechanism works with no tape in but when a tape is inserted it tries to retract but makes a whirling sound and then ejects the tape. Tried differeren tapes and power sources but no success.Hi, we have the same problem. I had the same problem and sent it back under warranty. They fixed it but were unable to give me the details of the problem despite several phone calls and now it is happening again. The same situation with MV700, not used for about half a year, and now can't insert any tape. Like yours - strange sounds and eject. The same situation with MV700, not used for about half a year, and now can't insert any tape. Like yours - strange sounds and eject.
Exactly the same thing with my camcorder. You put a tape in, whirling sound, beep, and it ejects. What´s the best solution here? Fix it or buy a new one?

our MV800 was doing the the same so i "accidentally" dropped it (i got a bit frustrated and it was out of warranty) and now it works fine. please note it dropped about half a meter on carpeted floor while it was off.
Same problem, but less violent solution: bump with your hand on the tape copartment (once it is closed). That worked fine with my MV800. It may be a small problem with a sensor.
I have had the same problem. Got it a year and a half ago and have only used it twice and now it wont work. does it cost much to fix or should i just buy a new one??

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot your Canon Elura 2MC camcorder:
Make sure that the camcorder is charged or that the battery is properly installed.
Check that the memory card is properly inserted and has enough available space to record.
Check the connections between the camcorder and any external devices, such as a TV or computer.
If the camcorder is not turning on, try resetting it by removing the battery and reinserting it.
If the camcorder is still not working, try cleaning the heads by following the instructions in the manual or by contacting a professional for assistance.
If you have tried these steps and are still experiencing problems with your camcorder, you may want to try contacting Canon customer service for further assistance. They will be able to provide you with more specific troubleshooting steps based on your particular camcorder and the issues you are experiencing.
yes i think; if you can find a good tech he should be able to make the mechanism alignement and clean out debris could be in the mechanism but he can charge you more because its as been open..
and clean the mode switch all that can be done with out parts replacing beleive me i know! because i fix a lot of camera and cam corder
hope that will help you..
regards Alan...
Please let me know more about the message, go down further below if there is a numeric code like "03" or "02" etc. Because If it is because of condensation tape can be ejected. Please wait message also appear when you inserted a high capacity SD Card and you are switching from REC to Play and every time you switch cam on, the bigger capacity the longer you will wait, i suggest remove it when not needed. Please give as more details if none of the mention above solves your problem.
I believe your problem is in the drum motor assembly part No is AD97-10579A. Samsung they know that problem it require a Technician to replace this part because you must adjust electronic and sometime mechnism as well. Depend which country you are it might cover under warranty even your CAM is out of warranty just check with Samsung in your area
This is a tape transport problem and is expensive to fix. Unless you know a cheap tech, it's time for a new one. Be patient loading and unloading tapes. This is usually what causes this problem. The Yellow warning sticker is REALLY important. Another important item is to always use the same brand of tape because switching tapes causes a gummy build-up the makes tapes get caught in the machine. Videoteacher
