Re: Wont turn on .....no sounds, no clicks......using...
This symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power-supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorised and/or ic), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (horizontal oscillator, pre-drive or drive circuits.). this is because the supply volatages for the tuner, video intermidiate frequency(VIF), video amplifier, sound intermediate frequency(SIF) and vertical output circuit are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit.
but if you are not inclined with this kind of job, better bring it to a qualified tv technician. good luck!

Hi there, This sounds like a software glitch, you could try a factory reset, but you do so at your own risk. Here's how: On top of your tv there is four buttons... 1...Turn your tv off 2...Hold down TO THE LEFT the volume button and the CHANGE CHANNEL button. At the same time hold down the AV select button (round button) 3... Now press the tv ON button KEEP ALL THE BUTTONS DEPPRESSED untill the TV turns on... 4... By now the screen should have come on with a engineers menu on. 5... Using your remote scroll up and down the menu using the ""P"" button...on the menu you will notice items saying RESET..click either ""OK"" OR using the navigation buttons on your remote (thats the 4 surrounding the ok button"" press the right arrow then press ok. 6... Scroll through all of the pages ALL 11 of them and reset them all. At this point your tv on/off button may not work..simple turn off at the socket and everthing should have been reset. Now turn your TV off then back on again. Hope this helps TV_Doctor
Does any indicator light in front of the TV when you turn it on?
if the answer is yes, try turning on the TV by using the remote control. press any of the programme numbers 1-9 while pointing the remote at the TV. It is advisable that you install new batteries in the remote before attempting this.
If the answer is no then you should do the following:
- check the wall socket. try plugging another device into this socket to see if there is power present
if all the above fail thentake the TV to the repairman.
Resetting the TV If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:
NOTE: Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1.Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet. 2.Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...) 3.Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds. 4.Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV. 5.Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again. 6.Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices. 7.Turn on the TV. Give the brand name and the model number..
I have the same problem. When using the remote, it makes the clicking sounds like it turns on, then immediately makes the clicking sound of turning off. The LED blinks repeatedly 6 times over and over.
I *did* get it to come back on by holding the power button down for about 5 seconds. Now I'm afraid to turn it off again! :(
First of all, forget about the remote and see if the TV functions normally using the buttons on the front of the set itself. If the TV will not power on with the power button on the set itself, then something is wrong inside the TV. If the set works fine from the front buttons but no longer responds to that remote, then the remote has either gone bad or was accidently set to a different brand. In this case, look for the original book that came with the remote (or TV if it is the original remote) and follow the instructions for setting the remote back to Zenith. Try that and post your results here.
