Using EasyCapDC60 with Ulead Video Studio 10.0. After a lot of probs(partly solved by using mic jack etc) can record old VHS tapes. But the sound is poor - a lot of reverb. Any answers? Thanks

You can play your VHS tapes on your VHS machine and use a better microphone that is placed at the optimum distance to eliminate feedback. This is not the way to go though because you are doing a valuable task with inferior way of getting a good result. Best way would be to get a VCR to PC Conversion System at an electronics store. I priced one at Radio Shack for $99. You probalby can do better at Fryes Electronics or look on the Internet (Google or Craigslist search amy turn up a better price or a used one).

If you and play your VHS through your current TV or Stereo system you may be able to use the audio out to your PC or other recording device.

The reason that the conversion system is so much better is that they are changing from the analog to the digital system and this is a direct way to rerecord the orignal recording without microphone feedback and room distortion noises.

Hope this helps you resolve your issue.

Quiet Noisey feedback out of speakers

The speakers are not hooked up correctly. I don't know if you still have the instructions but it is a hardware problem and not software. Try to figure out how to hook them up correctly.

Recording a Phone Conversation

Olympus makes a device that allows you to record telephone conversations without having to hook up anything to the actual telephone. It is called a TP-7. It connects one end to the voice recorder in the mic jack and the other end is an ear bud microphone so that you are able to record the person who you are speaking to on the telephone so that the voice recorder captures both sides of the conversation.
go to emporium.olympus.com click on the link for voice recorders select your voice recorder and then look for the TP-7.
