Broken LCD on a digital camera

I broke the LCD dispaly on the olympus FE-230 digital camera can i order one on the web and replace it myself?

    Mine cracked in my pocket and now has a spider web on the display. All I need to do is replace the LCD with no wiring?? sounds great!

Yes you can! I have the same problem and found an Olympus
fe-230 LCD on ebay.com for only 39.99 with free shipping; beats buying a new camera.

Just search {Olympus fe-230 LCD} and compare the location of shipment (domestic or international) and the prices. I am expecting mine to arrive in the mail this Saturday.

By the way, it is very easy to replace once you receive it. Just use the small screwdriver to open the camera casing, remove the defective one, and replace with new (no soldering required).

Note: Be careful when connecting the rear camera light to the LDC.

Most battery doors of camera cannot be manually replaced. If your battery door for your camera broke off or the hinge is loose, the only option you have is to contact Olympus customer service.

My FE-230 shows no image on the viewing screen?
It sounds like the LCD screen got bumped and is bad. You can replace it yourself, with a little patience if you want to order one on ebay. They're around $25. There are articles on the net about how to replace them, in case you try yourself. I wouldn't have a repair shop do it, since they charge around $125, and you can buy a new camera for that! Good luck!

Cracked lcd
I have a Sony cybershot with a dead LCD. I also can't find a source for replacement and the cost of replacing it at Sony Service Center is a bit unreasonable and they don't sell parts. Luckily it has an optical viewfinder. In your case, maybe Olympus Service Center is the only way.

Broken LCD screen is quite easy to replace on the FE-170 and FE-210. I have purchased cameras with bad lens but good LCDs on ebay pretty cheaply( compared to having Olympus repair camera).
