Hi,
Im new to the website and Im really hoping you can help me out!! You guys are my lifesavers! I have a Sony DCR-TRV330 model and I'm having the following problem .When I turn on my camcoder and click on the menu button, I can see all the menu options on my LCD, like language, 16:9, and all the other, but as soon as I click on any of them it gives me the Title preset menu(Hello, Happy Birthday, Best Wishes, Our Annivevrsary, etc). Even at that point if I try to click on the "Hello" or "Happy Birthday" then it exits out of all the menus. No matter what menu function i press it goes to that. I have tried reseting the camcoder but it still does the same thing. I think there is a button that I'm not pressing or it must be something simple because I take really good care of my camcoder, it has not been dropped, hit or any water damage at all. It's in it's case and I use it on special occasions. The only other different thing I did was connect my camcoder to the computer by using an ilink cable to transfer a tape to a DVD which came out perfect. A couple days later is when I noticed the problem. Could there be any relation?? All help will be appreciated!!
Thanks a Million!
I have the same problem. You press the menu button, can scroll thru the different menus - but as soon as I press the wheel to select a menu - the title menu pops up. I have the same problem. Hello,
there should be no relation between I-link and the above mentioned problem. Anyway, contact your nearest Sony Service for the repair price estimate.

Go to the sony web site and download the driver for your camcorder. Search: DCR-TRV330 softwear (or USB drive(r)) When it asks for the CD_ROM part number grab the CD that came with it and type in the number that's under the words USB DRIVE. If you no longer have the CD try this number: 2-515-350-01. It's for the DCR-TRV280. IDK if it'll work for yours. For best results fined some one who has the disk for camcorder. It's not a key/buy code or anything like that. You can use it as meany times as you like. It's just a number that is used to identify the softwear with that type of camcorder.
If your PC has DV link port, connect camera via DV link and transfer movie files in computer. Other way is to hook camera with DVD recorder and burn DVD. Thanks.
No driver required. Plug the supplied cable into the computer firewire port and the Sony "i-Link" port on the TRV-330 and turn on the TRV-330 in VCR mode. Works in XP and Vista out of the box.
If your running WIN98 you can get driver from Sony.com. There is no driver for Vista at this time. Go to Sony.com and select Support tab.Hope this helps.
This is a failure of a motor to move inside the camera. There are a number of causes of this problem. The tape will be ejected to prevent the tape from getting damaged. This is usually the head/drum assembly that is not moving. This is not a repair that should be attempted by an inexperienced individual. Please bring this to a service center for repair.
hi there. i just actually had this problem right now. and heres how i fixed it :) it had the error so i took out the tape left it ejected for about 5 seconds. then put the tape back. it read for a little then errored again so it was close. next what i did is plugged the camera in (last time this error happened i plugged in the power and it fixed it) still no fix so i took off the battery waited 5 seconds then put it back on. after that i ejected the tape again and re put it in and it worked! you could try anyone of those things. and usually they work for me. maybe it has something to do with the cameras being old.
