SA3 amplifier to move to Europe : capability of the transformer ?

Hi,

I posted a message regarding the fact I wonder how to use my SA3 amplifier bought in the USA in a country supplying 220 Volts & 50 Hz.
Since you troubleshooted your device till the transformer, you may tell me the possibilities (compatible, with only connector issue ; or, upgrade possible by opening the device ; or, only way is to use an external voltage converter to buy).
Thanks !

The transformer in the SA amps will need to be changed or you will need a voltage converter

While living in the States I purchased a Bose Acoustimass 10 system but have now moved back to the UAE. As the system operates on 115 volts ONLY I would like to get it work on 240V without having to use a step-down transformer. By changing out the transformer form 115v to 240v will it work or will I have to change any other components within the system. Can anyone help me??

that should work but you will have to get the right transformer from BOSE in the UAE

Macintosh aoc monitor refresh rate

Europe has different power supply parameters than the USA, Obviously you discovered the voltage difference, hence the transformer, but the USA sends AC voltage at 60 cycles per second while most of Europe is at 50 cycles. You need a converter, not a transformer, if your monitor is capable, you may be able to set it to operate on the different frequency from display settings, or the monitors internal menu

How do I connect 2 jbl ct 26 speakers in a series to Bose sa3

I don't know the impedance of these speakers but the Bose SA3 amplifier is 100watts per channel.A higher wattage speaker may damage the audio amplifiers.

Hi friends! The problem is that this amp must work in Spain (230V, 50 Hz). What is the correct AC adapter available for this amp? Is there any internal modification to be done for correct...

You need to use a transformer type voltage convertor. DO NOT use ones intended for appliances such as hair driers. Transformer types are generally heavy. Get one capable of at least 50 Watts or KVA rating... about 3 times the nameplate rating of the amp.

Change from 110 to 220 volts transformer

It sounds like the replacement 220 volt transformer is putting out too much power, as replacing a 110 volt transformer with a 220 volt one should have no effect on other components, as the output voltage and amperage should be the same as the original one.

Best way to use US-Bose SA3 amp in Europe ?

Bose say you should pay to get it converted because over time the slightly different power cycles can effect it, however it will still works fine if you change the voltage with an adapter - like I did!!!

I am French and live in US I bought here a TV SAMSUNG Series 6 - 650- I also bought a DVD player able to read any DVD but for DVD zone 2, it's in black and white What may I have to do on TV to read DVD...

Hi,

Offhand in all probability and since the Samsung was bought in the US, it uses the NTSC color system. Even if the player is capable of multi regions including PAL/SECAM (Europe/region 2), the TV is not capable of displaying the other color system. Sorry, a multi system TV is also required.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
