What is the system configuration? How old is the system? Is it a dual boot? Do you have any programs running when running defrag or scandisk?

There are some possibilities through you can increase performance and solve ur hanging problem.
1. Open command prompt and type chkdsk and press Enter. after few seconds it will ask for Y/N and type Y and press Enter.
2. Type defrag c: -f and press enter. It ill defrag your c drive.

I have a thinkpad t40 every i put a usb allways hang what should i do?

Hi,
Two possible reasons why your PC always hangs after you connect the usb drive,
  • The usb drive contains viruses which are blocked by your PC's antivirus from entering the machine.Run a full scan of the usb drive with an updated anti-virus.
  • There are no installed drivers for the usb drive.Install the drives drivers.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Slow start up

Is this during an install or just the start up of your pc? If it is the starting of your pc you might try running your virus/ adware software on your pc.

clear out your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP directory (this is a storage area where files are stored before they are installed). Delete everything in this file, and your problem may be solved completely.
If this does not work, you may also need to clear out your Internet cache (temporary Internet files):
(Internet Explorer)
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Tools -> Internet Options.
3a. In IE6 - Click on the 'Delete Files...' button on the Genral Tab
3b. In IE7 - Click on the 'Delete' button under the Browsing History section of the General Tab.
(Mozilla Firefox)
1. Open Firefox.
2. Click on Tools -> Options
3. Click on the Advanced tab -> Network Tab.
4. Click on the 'Clear Now' button under the Cache section.

- Empty your recycle bin

- Run Scandisk
1. Click Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools
2. Select Scandisk
3. Select your hard drive. If you have more than one, you should scan each drive individually.
4. Click Standard
5. Check Automatically fix errors.
6. Click Start

- Run Defrag
1. Click Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools
2. Select Disk Defragmenter
3. Select the hard drive you wish to defrag and click ok.

I hope this answers your question.

I can't access my yahoo messenger.what should i do?

What exactly is happening when you are attempting to access your Yahoo Messenger?

If it is hanging and not giving you an error message you might try the following:

clear out your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP directory (this is a storage area where files are stored before they are installed).

1. Click Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools
2. Select Scandisk
3. Select your hard drive. If you have more than one, you should scan each drive individually.
4. Click Standard
5. Check Automatically fix errors.
6. Click Start

- Run Defrag
1. Click Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools
2. Select Disk Defragmenter
3. Select the hard drive you wish to defrag and click ok.

If this still does not work try removing and reinstalling Yahoo.

Depending on your operating system you will need to get to add remove programs from there you will choose the selected program and click uninstall or remove, it may prompt you with some questions just answer them to your preference to continue. Be sure to restart your system if it doe not do it on its own.
I hope this answers your question.

Pdf automatically opens, then system just hangs

I think the problem lies in your Comp or the Adobe reader. Reinstall Adobe reader, try a later version. Also run scandisk to check if the OS is okay.
