Hampton bay fan light half power

The lights on my hampton bay remote fan only light to about half power. They turn on and off, just not bright. Is there some kind of internal dimmer control that may be the issue?

Update, you are my new hero . It worked perfectly -- the fan never came with instructions.

    Thanks

I had the same issue....Take the remote control and press the light button once...then hold down the light button for several seconds and they should slowly increase and/or decrease depending on the amount of time you hold the control button. Hope this helped.

Hampton Bay Kemper running Half Speed & Half As Bright

My hampton bay fan began running at full speed on all three fan positions a few weeks ago. I replaced the switch, which did not work. I noticed that the small black box (capacitor) inside the recess behind the light cover has a large bulge that has cracked the plastic. The part number (C61 E185116) does not reveal any websites that can offer a replacement, and hamtonbay.com redirects to homedepot.com. This fan is apparently made by home depot, and it is not backed in the same manner as Hunter fans are (I received a free replacement part for a Hunter about five years after purchase). From this experience and what I have read in this forum, I have learned to avoid the hampton bay fans. It is too difficult to find a part when there is no real manufacturer to contact for assistance.

Fan and dimmer remote does not work

The remote is a Hampton Bay remote that should dim the light and fan on and off. I replaced the battery and do not have a red light when I press the button. Light and fan does not turn off with remote.

Fan remote operates fan, won't operate light

If you press and hold the light button, it will step up in brightness to max then back down to dark. Then when you press the button briefly it will turn off and then press button briefly again it will turn on at the intensity you had it at last. So if you are one tick from off you may not notice it is "on" because it is dark. A second possibility is that you replaced the bulbs with a compact flourescent and they are not always happy with adjustable brightness, often they will be on or off, no middle ground. I recommend sticking with old school bulbs in the fan.

Hampton bay fans

inside the remote, and inside the transmitter above the fan there are 4 tiny keys that set the frequency. set each frequency different then the remotes will only operate that fan. However if two lights r on and one off, when u turn the switch off they all go off, and when u turn it back on the same ones should come on. Then label the remotes!!!
