Check the standpipe gasket. Its a small part, but could be the problem. Also, look very closely at your manifold for any small cracks. The smallest fissure in the manifold can produce big problems.

also, check at the bottom of the sand and look at the laterals, they may also be broken.

SOURCE: Hayward sand filter needs primed every time

The problem is a malfunctioning check valve. It'll be somewhere in the line on the pump output side. If it's not a separate fitting it'll be in the line, probably in an elbow.

Need further info, let me know...

The model number you give is for the multi port valve. Did you need the valve manual or the filter manual? Go to haywardnet.com for their full line and manuals. Here is the link for the SP0714 valve at their site. It is in PDF format...

My Haward perflex EC-40 filter allows DE and dirt back into the pool whenever we start it up or vacuum.

There's a hole in the filter allowing DE and dirt to pass. Find hole and repair or buy new. I just bought new grids off of ebay, great deal. I payed $112 for complete set by Unicel and saved over $100 My filter is a Hayward DE4820

My pro series plus, model 360sx was filtering sand back into the pool. Thought we had a broken lateral. After removing all sand and inspecting, can't find any broken or cracked pieces and are at a loss why...

As far as the pressure gauge goes on these pool filters, those work for a short amount of time then they go bad. I would have to ask you two questions. Do you have good strong suction from the skimmer? Do you have a strong flow from the return? If the answer to both of these questions is yes then I don't think you have a problem other than a bad pressure gauge. Also you said the pressure is the same but you did not mention if it is still spitting out sand. If it is and the laterals are all ok I would recommend replacing the spider gasket.

Vacuum cleaner not picking up and sometimes spits ouit dirt

Check to see if bag (or if not bag then chamber is full).

Check to see if filter is clean.

If your vacuum has a bag, check to see that it is properly mounted.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific but it would help if you would specify what type of vacuum you have, whether you are using the hose or just the floor part, and where it is spitting the dirt from.

Hope this helps. If not, let me know the answer to the above questions and we'll go from there. Good luck!

After replacing gasket on filter vacumed pool

I would suspect that there is a fault in the filter, a bnreak in the filter elements, a bad alignment, a colapsed support. something that is letting the dirt get back in to the pool

D.e. earth pool filter returning dirt to pool

The flow tubes inside the filter canister are torn and letting dirt pass. The repair is simple and can be done by someone with a few hand tools. Download the manual for the filter here:www.haywardnet.com/products/Manuals/pdfs/manual9.pdf

You'll only need to replace the ones that are ripped, and the cost runs about $3 - $5 each. Search around on Google for a supplier or try a local pool dealer.
