My Hitachi RB 24EAP blower will not start this morning. The priming bulb does not act like it is taking in any fuel.

Check the insulator block for cracks and the 2 gaskets behind it. Make sure the gaskets are lined up properly.

SOURCE: Ryobi blower will not start unless primed by

If it is under 2 years old, I would take it to a warranty repair center. The carburetor have been giving some problems so they have needed to be replaced because they are sub standard quality.

SOURCE: PRIMER BULB WONT PRIME

I would recheck the carburetor to make sure you put the diaphragms next to the carburetor and not the gaskets.
Please if it is not priming you may have the fuel lines hooked up wrong. Also check the fuel cap to make sure the vent assembly is there. If the tank is not venting, the tank will get a vacuum in it not allowing fuel to flow.

SOURCE: weedeater blower will not prime

The bulb is a two way valve. The inlet from the gas tank is shorter than the longer end, which goes to the carburator

Hitachi Blower not priming

hi

just because you brought it 4 years ago does not mean it is four years old thats when you first used it the machine itself could be 6-7 years old
anyhoo
it sounds to me that when you stored your tool up last time may be for the winter
there was still fuel left in the carburetor
what happens is any fuel left in the carb will expand in cold weather and when it expands it stretches the diaphragm inside the carburetor
hence as soon as you touch the throttle it will probably flood the engine making it hard to start
i will need the full information on the make model engine size

Went to start bp251 blower after sitting in shed for a week, pull string was very hard to pull. took off plug a lot of fuel came out of plug hole . also checked muffler screen, was clean. there was quite a...

Take plug out turn blower to where plug hole is down pull starter cord many times until all fuel is out. Clean plug, install, try starting without priming or choking. If no start try priming just until you get fuel to engine. Try starting again. If this works when storing blower leave fuel cap slightly loose in very hot weather until you want to start.
