So my laptop had a virus and i had to reinstall the whole thing to the factory settings and i did so everything was like when i got my laptop brand new. But the webcam doesnt work. It't nowhere to be found, i have tried to download drivers for it, but at the installation it says webcam not found. Even under the device manager, there is no Imaging section, so i can't go enanble or disable the webcam. I have tried everything. If any of you have any suggestions, please help me. thank you so much.
I had the same problem once. There could be two reasons.
1. your cam is not working ( may be your laptop is not detecting it ) it happens sometime just because of loose internal connection
2. you still using wrong drivers.
I would like to suggest you to identify hardware first. Go to desktop > right click on the my computer and choose property
> click hardware > device manager
Now try to find your cam driver if that has been successfully instaled. ( yellow icons shows problem with drivers )
If you think that the cam is not present there, in that case you have problem with your cam ( possibly corrupted cam )
Hope that helps

Make sure that the usb drivers do not have conflick right click on my computer and go to propertys open the device manager and see if there are any conflick of driver unistall the camera and drivers for the camera restart the laptop ad the setup disk and follow the prompts to reinstall the drivers if you dont have a setup disk download the driver and put them on a disk ,if you install from a disk you will have less chance of conflick than you would if you just down load and install from the internet.

SOURCE: Acer Aspire one "The Acer Crystal Eye webcam has not found!"
Go to Device Manager and open up Universal Serial Bus controllers and you should see USB Unknown Device. Right click on the USB Unknown Device and click on Uninstall. Shut down the Aspire One PC. Unplug the power adapter to the PC. Remove the battery at the back of the PC. Wait 1 minute.
Put back the battery. Plug the power adapter. Turn ON the Acer Aspire One pc. It should automatically detect the Acer Webcam and it will be listed in the Imaging Devices at the Device Manager. :) yay

thanks for the quick reply. I try that, and in the device manager place there is no camera shown, not even imiging devices, and even when i type camera or webcam in the main search place from the start menu nothing comes up. This is pretty strange because the camera was working fine right before i reinstalled my whole computer.
Wait. is it a notebook with windows 7?
yes it is
Well, you dont need to install a driver for webcam when using notebook with windows 7. it appers to be a virus problem now , are u sure u formatted your all drives properly? do a try again resinstalling 7 version and make sure u format all the drive or if you din do it , you gonna face cam prob again as the virus will infect the cam path and that will not show up!.
i already did it twice haha, i dont even know what to do anymore...
Only jesus can help you now! lol
hahaha best answer so far. hopefully he knows about computers, though i think he would be mac user, since he is God and all. Ill be praying anyway. :) Thanks man for all the help
