SOURCE: Panasonic dd-s25 won't play dvd.
HI...
Have you tried reg.CDs to see if those have trouble too?
I would say that the lens assembly has got debris or a filmy substance over the lens.
If you're not the least bit technical , dont open the unit.
It will require that the cover gets removed and the top DVD spinner plate gets removed so that the Lens can be cleaned.
The chrome rails that the DVD reader runs on would need cleaing too.

SOURCE: Dmr-ES30V Dvd plays pre record movies fine but I
Try a different brand of blank dvd+r or -r. you will find that your dvd machine is fussy on what discs it plays. More exspensive dvd players are fussy with what dvd discs you put in, as cheaper dvd players would virtualy play most types of dvds.

Usually answered in minutes!
DVD will play for about 30 minutes, sometimes less, then the picture will freeze. The player spins off and on, makes clicking noises, the motor whirs and grinds as it does whatever it's doing -- lots of mechanical noise -- then it will spin up again and the movie will continue for 5-10 minutes before it goes into grind mode again. Just gets progressively worse. Tempted to just chuck the whole unit into the street.
Same thing happens with mine. I have had it work fine for almost the entire movie, then it will just freeze about every 5 minutes for 30-45 seconds.
playing a dvd and it works fine for 10-1 minutes. the picture freezes for 10-40 seconds and the resumes playing for 5-10 minutes and then freezes again. very frustrating. i've cleaned several different dvd's and have the same issue.
Mine is about 3 years old or so, and has just started doing exactly the same thing. Has anyone found any solution for this?
Mine started doing the same thing just recently - in the beginning it would freeze up toward the end of the movie but its now doing it in scene 3 or 4. Makes the whole thing unwatchable. Will probably throw it off a cliff but maybe someone has a simple solution
Panasonic DVD S25 started to freeze towards the end of movies and is now freezing towards the start of movies. Will restart on its own occasionally or with prompting but it isn't possible to finish a movie anymore. I haven't noticed the mechanical or whirring noises others have mentioned.
