Intake/Drain light My machine will run for about 5 minutes before shutting off and having the Intake/Drain light come on. I've read the manual, and tried cleaning out drains, but nothing seems to work. Every time I pull the white valve out, there is a gush of water, which seems reassuring but doesn't quite fix the problem. Any suggestions?

I have had same problem with no solution. Certified repair tech to home several times with tech support from Miele. A new pump was installed at my cost to no avail. For the cost of the machine I am very disappointed. By the way, my machine is 1.2 yrs. old!

OK, I just posted "solution" #2 but now, at least, think I've actually found the solution to MY problem.  It appears that there's a leak in the corrugated drain hose...not in the connection but in the hose itself!  Can't imagine how that could happen because it gets no wear and tear, other than drain water flowing through it.  But the leak apparently caused the D/W's leak detector to trigger and shut things down, displaying the intake/drain light as it's supposed to do.  Now that's the good news.  The bad news is that I've got to buy a new hose and replace it, meaning I'll have to pull out the D/W and snake the how through an adjacent cabinet to get it to its connection under the sink.

I've had this problem intermittently with one of my three Miele Incognitos, beginning about a year after moving into our new home.  The offending Miele has a longer run between the sink and the D/W and I assume that's part of the problem.  I've had success fixing it in the past by placing a garden hose against the black rubber gasket of the drain pipe (remove the back-flow valve unit first) and flushing the drain out.  But tonight, that hasn't fixed the problem after three tries.  I also checked the water inflow pipe and the leak sensor but can't detect any problems there.  Not sure what to check next but this is getting exasperating!

Ideas????

Same thing happens to me. I was checking the Miele website and noticed that the Incognito has been discontinued. Perhaps this is a design flaw. I am about ready to replace the machine, but given the price, I hope someone knows how to fix it.

Diplomat dishwasher ADP 8322 - previously not draining but neither was the sink and I've unblocked that which is now working fine. When I put it on it bleeps continuously after about 5 minutes

Hello Simon,

No water in the tub would indicate the drain is clear (unless it never filled at all...have you confirmed? Do you hear water leaving the unit?).

Those bleeps and flashing lights are of course the machines desperate effort to tell you it's problems and the code may be in the owners manual or a call to the manufacturer.

I'm a big one for checking grunge accumulation and would ensure the discharge hose is clear. This gets back to hearing water leaving the machine. You may need to pull the unit to check the hose, although a common blockage is right at the connection to your disposal.

Also, check for debris under the filter screen in the bottom of the tub, another place detritus accumulates.

All the best.

Miele W1213 intake, drain and 3 - - - faults

Have had this since 2007 or 2008. Pain in the backside.
Fixed it by:
Cleaning drain.
Unplugging from power.
Tilting forward to drain water for 1-2 mins.
Made sure that the clear plastic light ***** in the rubber opening which located at the top was tight as it tends to get loose if you have an off-balance load.
Plugged power back in.
Boom, she started up.

This is a great washer/dryer, but it's expensive to fix if you need a repairman and it's a bit of voodoo if you need to do the above.

Miele G841 Built in. Intake/Drain light on/flashing and the dishwasher just shuts down.

I had a similar problem with a different Miele. I found that under the door, there is a removable trim panel (may not be one on yours). Under the trim panel was an acoustically sealed metal plate held by a couple of screws. i switched off and disconnected the electrity, then removed the plate. The bottom tray was filled with a big puddle. I cleaned that up and put the machine back together and it ran fine. Accordingly, I'm getting some replacement shaft seals for the thing as it looks like its worth fixing. Good luck with yours. rupertvdP

Intake drain light flashing

1. Unscrew air gap which is on the counter-top next to sink.
2. Unscrew drain clamp under the sink which s connected to the air gap.
3. Use a wire hanger to push down debris clogging the drain.
4. Screw clamp and air gap back in place.
5. The dishwasher should work. Routinely clean out air gap every half year.

Miele G841 Built in. Intake/Drain light on/flashing and the dishwasher just shuts down.

In the user manual there's a section on how to clean the non-return valve. It's the plastic piece under the wire below the triple filter. Why did you pull out the machine? Did you kink the drain hose? If you don't find a clogged valve, spin the impeller wheel several times. It's under the valve inside the bottom hole where the valve came out.
Now here's the important step- Reset the fault! Power off/on the unit. If the light blinks when you turn it on, Press and hold the start button 4 seconds with the door open. Find the combination of off/on buttons to press to reset the machine in the user manual.
(Note: If the machine runs continuously as soon as you pressed on the power button, then you have water under the unit in the safety pan. Call Miele for help.) Now select the normal wash cycle close the door and start it. The drain motor always runs first. This verifies to the brain how much water is inside the machine when it starts filling. The drain pump runs for half a minute. If you hear it running with no drain check the drain hose especially if it's connected to a disposal. Clean the disposal.. If it's not running at all the light will go on again before filling, call Miele. If the machine fill up with fresh water, the drain works. Watch and listen when the light comes on. Is it filling or did it start circulating? Open the door, are the baskets are dripping wet? Then it filled and circulated. If the light comes on several miutes later then call Miele.

Both the intake and drain lights are flashing

There are several simple solutions, one is reading the instruction manual. Check Intake: is any water entering? is it slow? This machine filters debris from the supply water so check the water intake filter. It is inside the end of the intake hose end against the home. Rinse it clean.
Drain: The same fault appears if the drain is clogged. Check if the lint trap is perfectly clean. Check the impeller (a set of fan blades) behind it spins freely. If buttons or coins get in there they can break off the fan blades and you can't drain water. Check the end of the drain hose if it drains. put it into a bucket or tub basin to observe how strong it pumps. Call Miele if these tips don't work. Be at the machine with Model and Serial number ready.

Mieli water-intake light comming on?

I think it's regular salt, yes, but I've never bothered to fill mine.

Have you had a dishwasher previously? If not, check the tap where your washer gets its water to make sure it has proper water preasure. If the washer doesn't get enough water it will stop.

In my kitchen there is a separate little knob on the tap to control the water to the dishwasher. this has to be open. Mine has hot and cold selection, but only cold is connected so if I turn it on hot the washer gets no water
